As is the case with many STD’s. 😱😱😱🤣🤣🤣

Is there a sports person who is worse at their job than Angel Hernandez?

I would love to see video of him watching Harper…..I will bet he was not even watching the pitch. He needs to be removed…..he is a disgrace to umpires. Every game he does stuff like this. Reminds me of TV Teddy.

Your brain wires are crossed.

Being a wuss would be hoping the other team’s players get hurt so maybe your guys can win. It’s looking for shortcuts. Lack of competitive fire. Weak. Sad, really.
Do y’all even headhunt bro? That’s all we did. Biggest hit of the game on both sides of ball got certain rewards. Got them every play and hard as you can. If they got hurt so be it.

I won’t secretly, as I’ve said, the goal is to get the advantage in a football game. I don’t want to see a kid taken out by a career ending injury, BUT, if he has to leave the field because he’s bruised and battered, well it’s football and a contact sport. That’s what you signed up for, and I’m a mom of a prior football player.
So just Klubnik him?

He had what two good season because of Pickett. I really don't give a flying rip who they get but they can do better than that.
You're looking through a 2023 lens. He followed Paul Chryst and the team has been much better. Historically speaking, he is the third best coach they've had with only J Majors and J Sherrill being better. Majors was only there 4 years but won a NC his final year. Jackie then followed Majors and kept the momentum going for another 10 years. Pitt is not an easy place to win.

An interesting statistic I took from one of Freak's posts.

People apparently "feel" like we are going much slower than we actually are. We lead the nation in plays per game-clock minute this year at 3.01.

And that's not the only shock. Our regular-season plays per minute last year, Freak noted, was 2.91 -- very slightly slower. And that slower speed had the benefit of the old rules that stopped the clock much more often. That meant we could often already be lined up at the moment the clock resumed. This year all of that must be done on a running clock.

Another reason not to be surprised that Sabey pushed for the rule change that many people think was aimed at hampering our offense. Of course, that wasn't the fraud's public sales pitch.

I really believe a major factor is that dumb new rule where if the player runs out of bounds after a first down, the defensive team gets to sub. It does slow us down. Still faster than anyone else.

They just changed the rules this season…. that is why there is a huge uptick in sbs….. There will be over 1,000 more sbs this season than last year and success % has increased to over 80%. I bet teams start to value it more and a 100 stolen base guy will appear in the near future.
I’m aware. I don’t credit the 30 additional stolen bases over the magic 40 mark to bigger bases and limiting pitcher throws tho. There are six total who reached 40 this season. That 100 figure requires a lead off hitter to get on base regularly and the TEAM to be proficient at small ball. It was an outlier even back in Henderson and Coleman’s days…back when they were a little more durable. I’d love to see it, but not as optimistic.

Chicken wings started at Anchor Bar in Buffalo and they were put on the bar like Beer Nuts. Couldn't give wings away then.
Brisket was considered offal meat and given away to poor masses or disposed of. Slaves turned it into the choice bbq item first off the menu. Same history with lobster.

The Catch!

In Game 1 of the 1954 World Series, the Indians and Giants were tied at 2 in the top of the eighth inning. Cleveland had just put Larry Doby and Al Rosen on base, sending Vic Wertz to the plate to face Don Liddle. Wertz collected four hits in this game, including a double and a triple. This at-bat was the only one where he retired, yet it became the most notable of his 17-year career.

On a 2-1 pitch, Wertz hammered the ball deep into center field. 23-year old Willie Mays, in just his fourth season, bulleted towards the outfield wall. The ball was headed to the warning track, just a few yards shy of the wall marked 483-feet from home plate. Mays caught up with it and at the last second made an overhead catch with his back to the infield. Mays then spun back and threw to the infield, preventing both runners from advancing. Marv Grissom came in for Liddle and retired the next two batters. "I never hit a ball so hard in my career as the one Willie caught," Wertz said.

Mays' game-saving catch was so unique and so opportunistic that it completely obscured Dusty Rhodes' three-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the tenth. After the game, Liddle told manager Leo Durocher, "I got my man."
