pics didn't come in well. The long and the short of it is that they have a good batting average and hit bombs too. Not as many bombs as us, but a number good enough when combined with their batting avg.
One wonders how much HRs are devalued at Omaha? Surely someone has ran the math before.

It's also ridiculous to have the championship at the same place every year when it clearly biases towards/against certain team lineups...and of course it's the ONLY major sport where field dimensions differ...ergo the absolute dumbest sport to not rotate the championship in.

Looking back at former recruits and what not…DO YALL REMEMBER US EVER GETTING A VISIT FROM BRANDON AIYUK IN 2018?!?!?

That’s wild..what could have been lol

I should've considered your opinion before having my own. My mistake!

Carolina has been booty for a while. They'd be hiring a national title winner with 4 SEC reg season titles, 6 SEC tourney titles, and 9 combined Big East reg/tourney titles with about a .700 win percentage in D1 and 6 CWS appearances.

It's a Rick Barnes/Mack Brown type hire. It's far from a disaster and you'd be hard pressed to find a better resume right now. Calling it a disaster is an epic hyperbole. It's likely that a young, successful midmajor coach is hesitant to take that job with how far down they are and with how tough the SEC is and the additions of Texas and OU.

PM can stabilize the program, bring back some success, and develop a coach to take it over in a few years or at least make it more appealing for the next hire. I genuinely hope it fails but it's a smart/wise move.
No need to be snarky. Cock fans are calling it a disaster. I tend to agree.

I'm always skeptical of the new "thing" but I tried on some on clouds and dang if they weren't fantastically comfortable for those couple minutes. Hopefully that lasts.

Also on sale and close enough to Tennessee colors to wear on game day!View attachment 647631
Have worn On Clouds for about 4-5 years now. I work in the medical field and I'm on my feet for 7-8 hours a day. I have like 7-8 pairs now haha

Ben McKee was on Josh and Swain and the Texas rumor was brought up. Paraphrasing, McKee said he's heard the rumor for a long time now, but believes TV will be staying at TN. Will probably get a raise to make him the highest paid HC in baseball north of 2 million. TN has been negotiating with TV's reps for couple months now. TV has also been looking for property around Knox. Texas still has a sitting HC, but will probably be fired.
Reading the tea leaves….as I have mentioned earlier, TV is extremely loyal and very appreciative of what UT has done for him. We gave him his first shot and have made major investment into baseball facilities. I sense he really likes what he has here.

DW is smart….he knows what he has. He will pay and we will keep TV For years to come.

TV is loyal to his team and to his process. I think starters will remain the same. Stamos-Causey / Beam / Sechrist. Difference in this tournament and the SEC/Resgion/Super is that there is a day between each game. I would think TV will have a short rope on all starters. This bullpen will get a workout.
If he does that, I think it’s a bad move. You could potentially not even pitch your best starter.

Like any line of shoes, you get what you pay for. Brooks Adrenaline shoes are good…the Glycerins are better and my go to shoes. I would stay away of the lower level/priced shoes.

I have not tried On Clouds however. I have/had upper level Asics Gel and New Balance shoes. Both are pretty good. Mizunos are okay but not very stabilizing when cutting. Adidas just fit poorly…at least with my foot. Have not had a pair of Nikes in years as they always fell apart quickly…that, and their support of Kaepernick has me boycotting the brand…and yes, I know it is the brand of our beloved Orange. Not a fan of Hokas. For comfort for those with foot problems, me included, can’t beat Skechers.
Idk what my Brooks are but caught them on sale for under $100 and they’re great lol hell it may have been under $80

Just got my Phil Steele College Football Preview Mag.

Have to admit I was reading through it like:
ovaltine21.gif

Had James Pearce 1st Team All American
Had Cooper Mays 2nd Team All American

Had us highly ranked in OL, DL and WR in the positional unit rankings. Not so much at LB and DB. Top 40 at QB, RB, ST but not as high as I was expecting.

Phil Steele Power Ratings (SEC in bold) (Not all teams listed):
Georgia 135.00

Oklahoma 124.49

Florida State 123.91

<-- basically has us ranked as the 16th most talented team in the nation.
Kansas State 121.66
Oklahoma State 120.09
Utah 119.92
Miami 119.50
Arizona 119.31

Virginia Tech 117.05
Wisconsin 116.69
West Virginia 116.36
Auburn 116.16

Liberty 111.27
Georgia Tech 110.95
UCLA 110.54
Arkansas 110.49
Colorado 110.15

Vanderbilt 99.83

Phil's Top 40 (where he thinks each team will FINISH the season):
1 UGA
2 Ohio St
3 Oregon
4 Texas
5 PSU
6 ND
7 Bama
8 Utah
9 Michigan
10 Miami
11 Iowa
12 Clemson
13 FSU
14 Ole Miss
15 Oklahoma St
16 Boise St
17 VaTech
18 Missouri
19 LSU
20 Oklahoma
21 UTSA
22 SMU
23 Kansas St
24 Vols - Expectations were high for Nico and then he was MVP of the bowl win over Iowa. They only face the 52nd hardest schedule and have the SEC's 3rd easiest schedule. (this doesn't seem like sound reasoning to have us ranked low???)
25 USC
26 Memphis
27 Liberty
28 TAMU
29 Iowa St
30 Ariz
31 NCSU
32 Louisville
33 Nebraska
34 UNC
35 WVU
36 TTU
37 KU
38 App St
39 UK
40 Louisiana

Phil Steele All-SEC Team:
1st Team - Pearce
2nd Team - Mays
3rd Team - S White, Norman-Lott
4th Team - Sampson, Spraggins, J Ross (punter)

Phil Notes on Vols:

QB - Iamaleava is the most hyped QB here since Peyton Manning. He has great size at 6'6 215 and is mechanically sound. Expectations are high for Nico who should excel in Heupel's offense and is a dangerous dual threat QB.
RB - With only 1 of their top 3 RB back from last year, they are not nearly as experienced or deep. Seldon and Keith will step into larger roles and they added state track champ Peyton Lewis.
WR - Four of their top 6 are back and should stay healthier.
OL - Return 112 career starts. Will be among the top OL in the country this year.
DL - Have 10 back that recorded double digit tackles last year. Remains a strength.
LB - No returning starters, but Banks thinks they will be better than last year if they stay healthy.
DB - Added 3 experienced transfers but secondary is the biggest concern heading into 2024. No returning starters.
ST - Kicker could be a concern.

Offense: Went from 46.1 ppg in 2022 to 31.8 ppg in 2023, will bump to 36 ppg this season.
Defense: Look solid up front but lose all seven starts from the defense back 7.
2024 Outlook: This year they are more potent on offense but do look weaker on defense. They do draw the 3rd easiest schedule in the SEC avoiding Texas, Ole Miss and LSU but do travel to OU and UGA and host Bama. They could top last year's 9 win total if the back 7 on defense mature quickly.

*Personal Note: I think Phil has lost his touch or he's been feeding his computers bad data. I think he has got a really, really bad read on us. I respect Phil a lot but I think he's lost. I don't agree with a lot of his other team rankings and notes either. Projections are way off, and I think he went safe/conservative with his top 20.

Isn't that the guy @butchna drove to Knoxville then he got stranded when @Jackcrevol wouldn't give him a ride back unless he commits? 😂

Really though, didn't he get a ride to knoxville from a fan or something like that?

8-4 in the SEC probably puts you at around 24th.

I’m assuming that’s what he’s saying since he has 4 teams we play higher than us.

I don’t remember how he arrived…just that he was late for the Jon Gruden helmed QB camp and didn’t participate. Dormady fully participated and emerged as the top QB of 3 in that class. Butch and crew basically ghosted Gibson the rest of that weekend and he wandered the campus for three days until three survivors of Heaven’s Gate let him cargo back to Florida in their purple van.

I don't think he knows what to do with us and his computers have us in a very wide variance.

Phil might be in trouble in the transfer portal era. I don't think he hit well last year either, even though he beats his own drum every chance he gets.
