I remember when ppl were saying a couple of years ago, they would give a testicle to be great again.
I don't love this guy for his UGA slant, but he does a great job breaking film study down. This is us versus OK study.
You know as well as I do that the transfer portal plays heavily into the mix and it isn't all about recruiting rankings. NIL plays a big part there too. As for Clemson, that's a program going in the wrong direction. We've beaten them out for several elite recruits that would've went there just a few years ago when they still looked like they could compete at an elite level. They would struggle to stay mid-pack in the SEC. Dabo doesn't embrace the transfer portal and doesn't publicly embrace NIL (although their players do get NIL money).Clemson?
According to the board they don’t use NIL, but they recruited roughly the same team as us last cycle.

This season they are sitting at 10/4. Not bad for a team with apparently no NIL.
He makes his money from disguising the blitzes. Not sure how easy he can do that against our wide splits. Hallmark of that is that defenders pretty much have to choose and declare. Too much space to defend.Interesting wrinkle to the game will be how Nico handles the blitz on 3rd down. Venables is so good at dialing them up. Will be a good learning moment for Nico.
Brother they use NIL to buy HS recruits. They don't use the transfer portal because Dabo is stubborn. They also got molly whopped by a UGA team that barely squeaked past UK. Both of those teams actively use the portal. You do your own math on that.Clemson?

I think this matchup will be Nico’s first real test. NC Slaw was wayyy overrated. I do think OU front 5-7 could slow our run which would make Nico have to beat them. His stat lines have been good, not great, so I think he’ll have to fill the stat sheet a bit more on Saturday. He focused on OK trying to stop us.
Quick takes:
They have the size on the line to slow our run, but they typically play too many bodies in the box.
Their secondary is likely too slow not to get exposed on some explosives.
Venebales loves to get fancy which could confuse Nico, but also could get exploited.
He encouraged TN fans to bet the over on passing yards and encouraged OK to pray they get turnovers.
No, we didn’t. Those classes contained a lot of paper 4*s and players other SEC teams didn’t want. It’s why Feldman viewed a spring practice and said we didn’t look like an SEC team. It was a sham. We’re now getting guys that championship programs want.
I don't really give a crap what we wear...as long as it's not neon or metallic colors.I personally like the Smokey Greys...but it's a once a year uniform IMO.
My least favorite is actually white tops orange bottoms. And I'd like to see a true all orange (with orange helmet) at least once, then they can retire that helmet
Hope so. They do have 10 takeaways so that is always a concern for an offense. If OU drops eight we will kill them with throwing to the flat and run game, when they step up and go man we will deep slant or fly them (we have the speed to take off the top). Disguising their blitzes will be much more difficult due to us lining up sideline to sideline.
OU's offense will have a much harder time vs our defense than we will against theirs.
I forgot that Ewers went to OSU for a minute before going to NMU. Bwahahaha @ OSU.The bold I 1000% agree with. They could also create rate bands. A freshmen wouldn't make as much as a senior, but a starting freshmen would make more than a redshirt that isn't playing etc.
With the current NIL you're basically throwing cash at potential and some may never develop, may never go to the school anyway, or may not play there at all (Quinn Ewers for example with Ohio State).
2015 contained a ton of “paper 4 stars” that no one wanted? 15 of those kids were ranked in top 250 or top CC.No, we didn’t.
