These types are found occasionally and Bishop is a great find but without those 4-5 star players you just cannot compete as a program and win natty's and that is a fact.

That’s why I said I care less. This staff has proven to me that they know exactly the type of player they want. Often, it coincides with a high ranking (i.e. Nico), but occasionally it’s a Bishop, Brooks, etc.

Not only do we have superior coaching over virtually any other team, I now believe we have the assemblage of talent to match, whether it’s Nico or Bishop.

Refs have been terrible for years, this year they’re on some next level stuff. It’ll never be “the only reason” a team loss, but at the same time refs can cost you a game. It’s happened before and it will continue to happen. You just have to make it way less common. There’s no excuses for the officiating to be as bad as it is in college football. Sport generates too much money, hire some people who’s full time job is this, and hold them accountable like any other profession in the world when they do their jobs poorly. It’s beyond time.

Their front 7 is really big and really good...they will eat Davis or Johnson either one up.

Davis is 6’7 335 and Johnson is 6’7 350. Davis did fine against one of the best defenses in the bowl game against Iowa. I don’t think you realize how much Davis has been playing. 39 snaps against Kent state, 33 snaps against NC State, 25 snaps against UTC. All clean snaps with no pressures or sacks.

Johnson had 32 snaps against UTC, 6 against NC State (when Heard was healthy) and 31 snaps against Kent State. So far, Heard has played 63 snaps against Nc State, where obviously he played well. But it’s not fair to just say “Johnson and Davis are trash, we’re screwed”.

A little behind on my reading this week. OU’s o-line was considered weak even at full strength, correct? So, even if they get some of their “questionable” guys ready to go, how much will that even move the needle? They were desperate to get Heard during the offseason for a reason.

Thanks for looking this up. I kept reading everyone saying how big they are, but didn’t remember when I watched them a little last weekend looking super big.
