We're winning it all!
I would like to know who the "recruiting forum royalty" are? Is it me? Am I a royal Yeti? Little known fact, I am the king of Tibet, though my country is currently occupied by communists. I rule in absentia. I traded the Himalayas for the Smokies.I
I know I'm not one of the "recruiting forum royalty" guys, but I've been lurking here for almost a decade, and I just want to say that this speech is one of the greatest speeches in Tennessee football history. He congratulated the team while letting them know that he expects more, he challenged them to be better while telling them how much they mean to him, he let them know how much this game meant to him while allowing them to express their gratitude to him for bringing them to this level. If you don't watch this video and think "wow, we have an amazing coach", then I can't help you because all I see from this video is a guy being universally respected by the players that have committed to playing for him. What a great piece of media from this team. We are so lucky to have him and everyone else in that locker room. Go vols.
Him and Gibson are a big time duo. Will be a great tandem for years to comeI posted this in the game thread about J. McCoy and want others to see it. Huge play.
Jermod McCoy made one of the smartest football plays I have ever seen on that offsides. He saw the DR (I think Pearce) jump into the neutral zone and immediately extended his arms and used both hands to make contact with the OK receiver as the ball was snapped to cause the whistle and keep OK from having a free play to take a shot. Watch the play if you get a chance.
Phenomenal awareness....McCoy is a HUGE addition and is a future NFL CB. His timing on coverage hits to separate the ball is elite, he has great speed and physicality and incredible instincts and football IQ. Best DB we have had in a long time
It’s so whack how the refs can change the game that much. There really needs to be rules added about them being liable for bad calls. People gamble on games way more now. They almost single handily caused the spread to get cracked.A few ATROCIOUS calls by the refs gravely affected the score.
1. The fumble recovery TD that was ruled an incomplete pass and led to 2nd oklahoma TD
2. the 50 yd pass to Thornton (down at the 8) that was called back due to a phantom holding
3. Missed pass interference on the 30yd throw to Bru that would've taken us down to the 22, for at least a FG.
that's a 23 point swing...maybe 27
Would've made it 42-9 (or 46-9).
Squirrels dropped pass may have ended up with us scoring a TD instead of a FG...
so then it's 46-9 or 50-9...
IMHO, that's a much more appropriate score for the game that we just dominated on D. Even despite the conservative playcalling and complete tomfoolery by the refs. And that trash field and being down a couple OL.
We are gonna win at least one of those 2 with the way this defense is playing (as long as the zebras don’t control both games like last night). Plus, our offense will be able to find its rhythm better by then, and I think Heupel will risk it a little more and let Nico run the ball.Man what a game, our defense looked like a serious force out there tonight. I think even if we do lose to bama and uga we still make the playoffs, maybe not host a game, but definitely be seeded top 11
