No Tennessee football this weekend has left me feeling .... empty.

What is everyone’s thoughts on Nico? So far in the SEC, Nico is:
7th in attempts
6th in completions
5th in completion %
6th in yards
3rd in avg
Tied for 6th in TDs
4th QB rating

Nico is throwing for about 223 yards per game. Which puts him on pace to have about 2600 yards passing. As far as passing TDs, he is on pace for about 24. He has 117 yards rushing and 1 rushing TD. That’s good for about 29 yards per game. Which would put him on pace for about 350 yards rushing total.

So is Nico about where you thought he would be? Better? Or worse?

He’s done everything we’ve asked him to, which we haven’t asked him to do a lot because we have had a great ground game. He’s definitely looked like a freshman at times by not identifying blitzers and stuff like that. But he will be alright, I give him a B

UGA won with Jake Fromm. He never had more than 2900 passing yards in a season. He averaged 26 TDs per year at UGA.

I do have to admit that Nico getting Heisman hype this season is a bit surprising, I think he’s been good but he hasn’t had a game yet this year where you look and say “yes that is the top player in the country.”

Unrelated, rewatching the NC State game a bit as I start cutting highlights from it...

The INT Nico tossed was a bad play call and a worse decision.

We had just 2 WRs running routes against their 3 man front, NC State dropped everyone in zone and didn't blitz... we kept 2 TEs and the RB in for pass protection. Nico should have either ran or thrown it away and move to the next play.

Even with that information, he threw the pass just a little too high for his receiver to catch. Otherwise, he was right on the money with that pass.

Learning experience that didn’t change the outcome of the game. JMO
