"Definitive" starts to mean weird things in super slow motion.

Personally, I'd prefer it if we let referees use basic human-level common sense in addition to instant replay. And common sense says, the ball never would have floated up in between their bodies if he had firm control of it.

I never saw video evidence that he didn't catch it. I couldn't see the ball all the time. I don't think he did catch it, but I also don't think they have indisputable evidence either.

It was called a catch on the field. None of the camera angles provided definitive evidence to say he did or did not catch the ball. Hell, even the retired official that serves as their rules guy for the broadcast said not enough to overturn. I don't THINK it was a catch either, but it was called a catch, and there was nothing definitive to overturn the call.
