Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Didn't the Offensive Lineman that Stoerner tripped over pass away a few years ago?
Ya Brandon burlseworth. He's a big deal around here, has a charity devoted to helping kids get glasses (burlseworth had terrible vision).

And he's the one who has the trophy named after him for the best college player every year who began their career as a walk on.

Does anyone else remember when Travis Henry injured his neck at the goal line against Vandy and had to be carted off. His mom got on the back of the gator and was so heavy the front wheels came off the ground and it would not turn. This my brain on a bye week.
I gotta find this footage lmao

A family (of 6) from Oregon bought the house behind ours. They paid 100k over asking price. It's crazy.

My oldest son wants to find a house and get married but he doesn't have a chance because the housing market is so out of whack.

That's what causes my anger towards them. It's a negative impact on my family.
Sold our house 3 years ago to build the one we are in now, we got $134,000. The family that bought it were local and now are selling(it’s under contract) they were asking $289,000👀
They listed it on an internet site not with a local realtor. Our little town of 1,100 now has 4-5 houses list on the same site all over $200,000 for house that 5 years ago listed for $85-$135,000.
We now have families from NY,CO,AK,NJ,CA it’s crazy.

He was killed headed to rookie camp after getting drafted by the colts in 1999.

They made a movie of his life called Greater.

Only thing about that movie I did not care for was how they portrayed Al Wilson in the game.

Or you could look at it as they're making locals who already own a home filthy rich. It's the ones who don't own a home already who are mad.

When all the Cali people moved here, my home doubled in value.

Knoxville will be better off in the long run with more people. If the city leaders act prudently.
Not really. Your home has gone up in value yes. Your property taxes have as well without wages rising in proportion. If you sell your home you will get a nice payday that will disappear when you try to buy another home that has also doubled in value and get into a bidding war with people willing to pay well over that doubled asking price at a higher interest rate. Most locals' purchasing power can't match what many of those coming from higher priced markets have, at least for most middle class families.

we bought ours for similar in '14.

there are houses in our neighborhood SELLING for $629K

no sense (hint they are overpriced)

My takeaway from that game is that Bama prepped well in the bye week and Georgia didn't but made good adjustments in the second half and still has a lot of talent. Run defense will be huge against the puppies if we can force Beck to win the game. Once Milroe was contained the tidy bowls looked beatable
Starting slow has been an issue for UGA since they opened with Clemson. I do think Bama threw the book at them and caught them off gaurd. I do think UGA failed to adjust real time in the 1st half. I am not sure those things have correlation to the bye week work, but yeah DeBoer is a legit strategist.

Not enough supply of homes at all. We were already in a supply and demand inbalance BEFORE the government printed trillions of dollars into the economy during and after covid.

I wish I could have bought a small starter house before prices got nuts. My 20 yr old is wanting to move out (and I want him to) but he can't afford it.

Me getting laid off during covid and then what's happened with housing prices and everything else since has wrecked our plans. It's beyond frustrating.

That's not a very accurate way of looking at it. I now have 6 figures more of wealth than I had before. Yes for the short term it's not accessible, but for the long term that's an amazing boon.

I bet there are a lot of twenty somethings in a similar situation. 4 bedroom rent is around $2k outside of cities, $500 each for roommates might be an option? Couple years of that and it's feasible to save up for a down payment on a house, where he can still have roommates but they'll be paying the mortgage lol.

This is accurate

Worst Hail Mary attempt ever by the NCAA. This should've been dead on arrival when it hit the judges desk. Can't wait to see her ruling on it.

The amount of effort they put into trying this case in the public has been crazy as well. Articles published even the day before her kicking it back praising all the good that would come from it. Increased scholarship limits, etc.etc. It's been interesting to say the least.

Majority of housing crisis is due to PE and investors buying up properties, many times with cash purchases.

Biggest upsets in National Championship or Bowl Game impacting National Championship in my lifetime.

1. Ohio State defeating Miami in 2001 Fiesta Bowl
2. Miami defeating Nebraska in 1983 Orange Bowl
3. Penn State defeating Miami in 1986 Orange Bowl
4 Florida defeating Ohio State in 2006
5. Penn State defeating Georgia in 1981 Sugar Bowl.

All this. I really wish the government would get a handle on PE. What's going on in Real Estate, Health Care, and elsewhere is terrible. Causes great harm to most Americans.

The movie made about him is top notch! I really enjoyed it. Of course, didn’t have not the ending.
