Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Do they even say where in California they left. It's a massive massive place but they make it sound like one entirely homogenous community. It's like saying Tennessee is the same from Newport to Memphis.
They actually spoke to the diversity, in contrast to the massive desert that makes up most of California. They said they were in a desert part.

California is beautiful. Go back. Tennessee is full of rabid hogs, shine stills, and gender neutral Sasquatches.
I don't know them, but in their defense they warned other Californians to only come here if they embrace the culture, and not to come here trying to convert it into what they left.

I've never seen more confederate flags than I saw in central CA (Modesto/Fresno/Bakersfield). It's an incredibly diverse state in every sense of the word.

It’s criminal that the NCAA still wants to put a cap on a players NIL market…as I have said from the beginning any sort of “cap” brings back the old boy system of paying recruits under the table to gain an advantage in recruiting…this has never worked but for a few schools and we know who those schools are…

The NCAA who has never shown to be impartial in their investigations and judgements and should never have that power ever again.
IMO, the NCAA should be able to cap the players when the NCAA employees wages are capped at $100k per year.

Stats don't tell a perfect story, but mahomes really has not been playing as well as we're used to. Kelce either. Now with Rice done, things are going to be even worse for them I think.
Apparently Rice’s MRI was negative and he might not be out for as long as previously thought.

All this. I really wish the government would get a handle on PE. What's going on in Real Estate, Health Care, and elsewhere is terrible. Causes great harm to most Americans.
This is happening everywhere in Nashville proper. It’s gross. Had a Chinese based investment company buy a home two blocks behind us. We live in the strictest historic overlay in the city near downtown. They let the historic home practically fall in on itself and then filed a claim that it was structurally beyond salvageable so they could demolish it. They wanted to build a large multiplex urban monstrosity instead. Our neighborhood association and the Historic Commission sued them for intentionally letting the house sit vacant to the point of decay. They had to build it back EXACTLY the way it was historically intended, and could only add 50% of the original footprint’s square footage as an addition….which is the rule. They lost their shirts, HOWEVER, this is going on everywhere in my part of town. Huge swaths of middle class working family homes are being bought to create development. Yes, the people selling made coin, but the problem is that it’s leaving so very little land and homes for middle class and working families. Thank goodness I’ve lived here forever and have some ancient rentals we’ve owned to boot, but VC/PE firms buying Nashville are making me mad right now. It’s still my home and my roots, but just….ugh.

If they don't, then this country will devolve into revolution at some point, when the gap gets too big and the vast majority of people are utterly hopeless..the guillotines or the gulags get set up and go to work.

It basically becomes hell on earth for everyone.

Yeah...I thought that last year too..and then..🤷‍♂️

I think Pat and his crew basically get lazy and unfocused during the season.

Truth...I learned that when we drove around the southern half of the state on two trips in 21.

It's the same as everywhere else..the urbanites are one way and the rural, except for a few little hipster enclaves scattered here and there, are the other.

At this point you have to be purposefully delusional to believe that game was straight up.

They cheated our players out of the chance of a lifetime, which bothers me way more than them cheating all of us fans...I hope they rot.
And add to it the Cocks and Beamer beat Clemson when they didn't suck. Michigan had film on both of us.

I wish I could have bought a small starter house before prices got nuts. My 20 yr old is wanting to move out (and I want him to) but he can't afford it.

Me getting laid off during covid and then what's happened with housing prices and everything else since has wrecked our plans. It's beyond frustrating.
Sorry brother.

I bet there are a lot of twenty somethings in a similar situation. 4 bedroom rent is around $2k outside of cities, $500 each for roommates might be an option? Couple years of that and it's feasible to save up for a down payment on a house, where he can still have roommates but they'll be paying the mortgage lol.
Yeah. That'll work. I know several newlyweds that want renters at their 1st home. 🙄

My point is, it shouldn't be like this. The "American dream" for my family was getting a job, getting a home, getting married, and starting a family. I'm close to 50 yrs old so it's not effecting me like it is my kids. They're in competition with US "migrants" and illegals.
