Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I don't do the subreddit but if they're telling people not to move to Knox, Anderson, Union, ect. Then I'm on board with their message. I don't hate Yankees and West coasters, I just don't want ALL of them here.
I don't hate stupid cattle either but I don't want them moving in with me. I would prefer however a few head of cattle in the house than those people moving next door.

My daughter and her husband are buying the home 2 doors down from us for $80k under the actual value. I have done work for the neighbors for discounted or free rates for years and they decided to sell to them cheaper.
I really like stories like this. You and that family are behaving admirably.

Or you could look at it as they're making locals who already own a home filthy rich. It's the ones who don't own a home already who are mad.

When all the Cali people moved here, my home doubled in value.

Knoxville will be better off in the long run with more people. If the city leaders act prudently.
Well if you want them in Knoxville that is fine. They should be forced to only relocate to the urban areas of Tennessee and leave us hillbillies alone. And make them buy really expensive "Moving Permits", they're used to that kinda crap.

Yeah. That'll work. I know several newlyweds that want renters at their 1st home. 🙄

My point is, it shouldn't be like this. The "American dream" for my family was getting a job, getting a home, getting married, and starting a family. I'm close to 50 yrs old so it's not effecting me like it is my kids. They're in competition with US "migrants" and illegals.

You should have him pay you rent, but you stash the rent he pays you into a high yield savings account.

It'll get him used to paying rent and budgeting, and then in a year or two when things settle and he finds a spot "here's your down payment"
I've thought about that too. The problem with that is, he's been at UPS for almost 2 years (part time) and they're bringing automation to the Knoxville HUB. The word is "lay offs are coming In January". UPS is union and seniority based, so he's looking for another job right now. And that's the other problem with so many new transplants in the area @MarcoVol ....... it ain't just the housing market that's being bought up by whoever, it's good paying jobs that are scarce and there's a lot more competition for them (and that's definitely not real-estate investors causing that). Me and my wife paid our house off, it's my kids making it alright that I'm worried about.

Was listening to a guy talk about how Ole Miss not playing anybody probably hurt them against UK.

I think NC State prepared us more than maybe we think against OK. NC State is average at best, but they had enough athletes to test us for a while. I think thay helped us handle Oklahoma a little better than if we hadn't played them.
