I may have to go watch some of that. I first noticed it against Uga in 2022. They also ran some new exotic blitz that disrupted the oline and HH never picked them up. Then scar ran some new schemes as well(not 3-2 or 3-3) Then last year was when teams really started to change how they scheme against Heup. I was always shot down about it last year tho bcuz everyone just said it was Joe Milton, or bcuz Heup didn’t trust Milton to run his real offense@Smokey123 Basillio is talking about the 3-3 from some info he got from a friend..... Heup has struggled with this defense since he was at UCF Tulsa used to give him fits. The problem is tackle pulls.
Have we covered their reciever yet? Nope he's still running wide open.Yea they should have scored a lot more points. But they didn’t. They scored 19. And We lost because our offense was the worst I’ve seen since Pruitt was walking around with a scarf over his face
Also think we need to get Matthews involved more. He’s an athletic freak. Even if he doesn’t fully get the offense yet, just design a few plays a game for him and let him do his thing. Anything to get this offense going. If Bama can trot out a 17 year old then we can get our young guy some plays.
The ones he’s brought in aren’t the problem per se.If you want to call NC State and OU high school teams, then whatever. Kitselman has surpassed already what he did at Bama. He’s got some talent. Let’s just say that the transfers that Heupel has brought in are not the problem. There have been a bunch of contributors in his 4 years.
Yeah, last year I wouldnt have believed anything because of JoeI may have to go watch some of that. I first noticed it against Uga in 2022. If we don’t he’ll leave..simple as that he definitely needs to be playing…you could also argue throwing Boo out there in the slot…Travis hunter is doing just fine playing both sides…why can’t boo?…could you imagine him and Mike Mathew’s on the field together?!…….SHEESH….scary hours
King spoke on that a few times. Said OL recruiting hasn’t been up to par as much as the other position groups. Elarbee is a good technical coach but not a good recruiter relative to the rest of the staff. Needs someone like a Coach Chop to help him in that regard.Have to reset our expectations for this team.
Take the 30,000 foot view. Talented freshman QB. Old but thin OL. Dominant defense. We will likely be in every game, but just like tonight, a lot of SEC teams can upset us.
6-6 heads are rolling.
7-5 is absolutely unacceptable.
8-4 a big disappointment but not unreasonable.
9-3 should be expected.
10-2 is playoffs and exceeds expectations.
11-1 very little chance of happening. Mostly bc of the OL.
We have loaded the cupboard with talent, but we have slacked on the OL. Blame whatever or whoever you want for that, but it's a glaring problem and has been for two years now.
If the OL makes huge strides next year then I think we have a higher ceiling in 2025.
Hope doneiko slaughter gets arrested tonightI’m so pissed I tried waiting before posting. Truth is the passing game has been suspect all season, sans cupcakes. Nico has a lot of growing up to do, I was always kind of worried with him impressing more on the 7 on 7 circuit than his actual in season HS production. But wanted to believe it was a result of not being surrounded by high level play makers at his HS. Truth is he has a lot of potential but also a lot of developing needed. Coach Heup needs a youth movement, put Matthews & Lewis on the field. Squirrel for whatever reason is nonexistent this year. We have no one that can take a 5 yard play to the house currently starting. Safeties reared its ugly head tonight, they are slow and non athletic. Green should’ve been picked off at least twice while we just look like we are jogging in quick sand on the backend. It hurt watching that frosh RB we wanted at Arky come in and punish us. But can’t ding the D too much considering how much the offense f**ked around tonight. Beat Florida and we all feel a little better, but Arky put out a blue print. Make Nico beat you, and Heup has to trust him to sling it. But also the o-line b**ched up tonight, including Coop with errant snaps. Whole night just felt off, they fell for the rat poison and ruined us celebrating Bama losing. Gotdammit this one hurt
Oh would you look at that. Like I’ve been saying, teams are running a different defense in order to stop our offense. We have to adjust and until then we’ll continue to struggle
19 dang points is not sucking and they did not look dominant but that QB was on and Bobby P is a good O coach. This game is on banks probably moreso on Heuple. We still don't have a secondary that can cover granny clampet. His defense gave up the game winning drive against their backup QB with the QB not having to throw a pass except for a screen. Ive given him credit this year for his good defenses. Im going to be critical when his defense sucks. They sucked tonight.
The defense has gotten better every year. If you want to look up stats, look that one up. 19 points in todays college game is stellar, particularly when the offense is 3 and out all night and we give them extra drives from things like running into the punter…Go look at the yardage. They moved the ball at will.
By the way this is CJH quote about the last play and running out of bounds. If your gonna argue about there not being a play or qb performance then I suggest you start with CJH. You are the only one dying on that hill....He was of because he couldn't trust the o line and play calling to keep him clean. He's a young QB who was afforded no favors from coaching or o line tonight. He was set up to fail.
The Arkansas coaching staff saw the deficiencies and seized on it all night. I saw those same issues over the last three weeks.
He thought he could have it for another play and was very close. There wasn't a good play to be made on that that last one. The issue is coaching and o line..... There wasn't a QB on roster that could have done better.
Quit blaming the the young inexperienced QB and blame the experienced units that failed him all night.
Or blame the QB if you want..... Just be prepared to never get a decent one again.
