The defense has gotten better every year. If you want to look up stats, look that one up. 19 points in todays college game is stellar, particularly when the offense is 3 and out all night and we give them extra drives from things like running into the punter…

So now we want to look up stats? Go look at them from the Arkansas game and get back with me.

When we went up 14-3 the stadium got quiet and we had all the momentum.

That is when you put your foot down and step on their throats and finish them.

Instead, we tucked tail and it cost us.

Poorly coached top 10 teams losing to unranked teams seems to be a trend.

Maybe, but arkansas should have had more. We were extremely lucky. Maybe you like a defense that gives up tons of yardage. That bend but don't break. It is going to bite you eventually and it did tonight. Drove the length of the field and really had too much time on the clock left. What was it 3 plays?

We will never have a championship level defense as long as he's here. Bobby Patrino abused him tonight. And, there defensive coordinator abused heuple just as bad. Totally out classed from a coaching standpoint. Hopefully it's an anomaly with Heup.

We were out coached but we should win any game we just have to score 20. We had all our starters on the line and he still called a conservative game.

19 dang points is not sucking and they did not look dominant but that QB was on and Bobby P is a good O coach.

It was typical banks. We can't cover anyone. Did you really believe the defense was going to stop them on that last drive? I figured they'd absolutely drive down and get a field goal but they even shocked me with ease they did it.

Notice how their dbs were in our pocket all night? Who has the better receivers? They know how to cover. We don't. Arkansas is not even that good.

I think part of this is NIL and portal and all that **** has made the sport more competitive than ever before. A lot of people thought the rich would only get richer but it hasn’t been the case.

Also think we need to get Matthews involved more. He’s an athletic freak. Even if he doesn’t fully get the offense yet, just design a few plays a game for him and let him do his thing. Anything to get this offense going. If Bama can trot out a 17 year old then we can get our young guy some plays.

And Ohio state has a freshman WR that’s been great.
Heupel slow plays everything apparently.

Elarbee needs to be replaced. Can't recruit and can't coach a decent offensive line obviously. ****ing pathetic.

Why not start Larry Johnson at LG, he looked dominant run blocking against OU. Heup has to learn to put talent on the field over upperclassmen you trust. A lot of those guys were suspect last season, we just had Jaylen Wright a threat to go for 20+ every carry he touched the ball. I’m ready to see Cam/Lewis get some touches.

Its one of the things I dont like about NIL. The parity is better sure, but its becaue everyone is getting worse not better.
Last years natty is a good example. Any other year neither of those teams wouldve been close to playing for a Natty

Yeah let’s not get too down on Heup though. He’s given us hope again. I haven’t had this much hope for the Vols since I was in 9th grade(07). It’s a new era of football. Let’s see if he adapts this year and the next few years. I have faith in him.
