Recruiting Football Talk VIII

This is such a specific question, it's hard to search for Amazon and maybe I need to fabricate something if possible.

So - being without water foreseeably for the next month, if not months, I need to tap into the moran braintrust for a moment.

Showering - I was thinking of buying something similar to a camping "portable shower" but not sure if it would fit into my actual shower. Any ideas how to accomplish a manually fed showerhead inside my shower?

Washing Clothes - Thinking of just having a large bucket of water with detergent and swishing the clothes and letting them soak. Then rinsing in a clean bucket. May have to do this on the ground/in the grass for all the runoff. Then have a balcony where I could hang them. Thoughts or better ideas?

This is worse than the Alabama player and it isn’t even close. Dude should’ve been arrested for that.

They let their fans storm right where a team was trying to get off the field into the locker room. Maybe something was said to the player. Zoom in and it sure looks like it. Kids an idiot for getting in the face of someone twice his size. Looks to me like he deserved it and the girl he got shoved into was collateral damage. Inexcusable, yeah. Am I surprised, not at all.

I can see the board is red hot so I will make my one post on the game and leave it for a bit.

The offensive players failed to execute as a group. You can make it other things, but that is what i saw.

Linemen failed to get push
Recievers failed to get separation
Nico failed to make passes

If Nico is gonna be that guy he can't overthrow those guys at the end of the game or take sacks when he could throw it away.

He's a RS freshman and he looked like one, but he gets paid the big bucks and we needed him to be better. He knows that too.

I will be in the stands for Florida, and I hope some of you will too. The season isn't over even if some of your expectations are.

A lot of good teams have lost games. We can still achieve our goals.
Mostly agree, but those other teams who lost don't still have to play Bama and UGA.

We're not the top 5 team we thought we were. And my biggest concern is Heupel still hasn't figured out how to get his team to play at their potential on the road.

2nd biggest concern is why our offensive playcalling looks so so so different/worse all of a sudden. Why are we scared to run tempo and throw the ball all of a sudden? Why do we turtle up for 6 quarters in a row all of a sudden?

One thing that is concerning to me (and can most definitely be corrected) is Heupel seems to have sort of lost his “edge”

I think we all really started to like him in ‘21 & ‘22 even with the losses, because you knew he would go down swinging. There were games in those 2 years that we could’ve made look a little closer on the scoreboard but didn’t because Heupel was going to go down swinging.

It seems like since the Alabama game last year where he went for it on a couple 4th downs and it backfired, he’s lost that edge. THAT is what I want to see more than anything, play like your defense can’t save you! We beat Alabama in 2 weeks (which I believe we can) all this will be forgotten
He is not the same for some reason. I think it is a lack of trust in our offense.

It’s so funny hearing Bama talking points when one of our guys does something at least as bad, I think worse, than they did to us.

I think for as good a coach Heupel is, we can pretty much pencil in one loss a year that shouldn’t happen.

Usually a road game, sec game and night game.

Florida last year
Arkansas this year.

Seems to be an annual trend.

Don’t know what Lance Heard was doing for 3 weeks but he was awful last night. Boneheaded penalties that killed drives, getting beat over and over in pass protection. So much blame to go around for this loss.
6’6 340lbs and can’t block a single soul.

I agree with you, but the defense also gave up multiple 3 & longs and gave up 60 yds rushing on their final drive for a TD.

There’s blame for everybody tonight
All 3 units have won games for us this season.
Last night, all 3 units lost a game. Seriously, with just one or two plays with different outcomes, the final result would have been different.

Last week Kirk Herbstreit said that we have a very talented team. They could easily win a playoff berth if they don’t start listening to their press…well this game looked like all 3 units came in expecting to win. Were not prepared for a battle. Yesterday , We were just like bama. (Gross, awful but true comparison) Can’t play like that again this season. Must find the chip and get it back on our shoulders. The press will take care of that with the Vols are overrated moniker.

Not even to the midpoint of the season. Cannot get down on this team.
They will figure it out. And even if they don’t, I am still a VFL. I will be rooting for them regardless of the outcome.

Anyway here you are recommending attempted murder for a guy who pushed somebody

You really tried didn’t you??

Go look at again, I was referencing the X video that was posted about an overweight guy getting pushed down stadium stairs, not that hard to see.

So yes, if you push someone down stadium stairs, you need to be arrested.

lol why would I reference something 2 months after the ****ing game? This is a whole new level of reaching.

Elarbee has a good history. I’m pretty sure he was a Broyles finalist at one stop, and his lines have broken records at multiple locations. He didn’t recruit Darnell Wright, but his development helped him get drafted.

The issue was his recruiting the first 2 years. It’s improved since then. While maybe the blocking hasn’t been great, everyone has to do their job, and that includes Nico. Arkansas brought 7 on a play last night, and Nico panicked. I know on one play, our RB didn’t sustain his block. Others have to help.
Did his unit break records or did just the offense? Did he develop Darnell Wright or was Wright just a 5* going into his junior year and made him look good? Everything about Elarbee’s bio and successes is off of players who were already elite and he just happened to inherit them at his next stop. His best unit was in 2018. His first year at UCF (hmmmm pattern?) and they still gave up NINETEEN sacks. I’ve seen bad Tennessee teams give up literally half of that.

Elarbee was nominated for a Broyles award nearly 10 years ago. But he wasn’t close to being a finalist in 2016. Digging into that nomination, and what would you know? His line was anchored by three seniors that year! And no, he didn’t develop them, either. It was just first year in that role too. Look at the consistent pattern that’s been built… over multiple stops. Elarbee takes over, immediate success with other people’s athletes. And then a steady regression year over year.

Does being nominated for an award pre-season give him a pass for multiple bad OL groups? Sure, recruiting is better. But now that he has to develop them, there’s been some glaring issues. And his track record suggests that it won’t improve.

By that standard someone who’s 300lbs throwing a guy who weighs 130 into a crowd of people should at least be simple assault, no?

I don’t think the girl said anything to the Bama player and it was a girl and it happened in space. They’re not more different than they are similar, but they’re not the same.
