Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Why is the line struggling though? I don't think it's so Golesh but there is a development issue and it's been evident for the past two years, particularly at o line and wr.

Are we not recruiting well enough? Are we not developing the talent we have? Are play calls disjointed for another reason beyond struggling o line and young QB?

These are all good questions and it's a problem we're having to ask them at this point.

For the record I don't think it's any one thing. I think it's a combination of many different problems. I just think we miss Golesh and I thought we would from the get go.
I said this in the offseason and everyone ganged up on me lol.

Are we sure there is lack of development at WR? We can see the OL whiff on a block during the game but unless you have a different view than the camera angle how can one say the WRs haven’t developed? Nobody can honestly say they’re not open bc we can’t see it.

Although last year the WR corps did have a case of the dropsies.

Individuals get too caught up in the results of the game or games being watched. I myself get upset occasionally on a result of a sporting event but the next day I realize once again there's more important things in the World than a game. Like family and life in general.
100%, Im normally pretty stoic. Last night reminded me why I find other things to do.

Its a college game.

I don’t watch TV or movies but most of my favorite bands would be considered sad. The Smiths, The Cure, all grunge bands. Few hair metal acts like that too.

Do you only listen to happy music? I’m not being sarcastic I’ve just never heard that take. Might explain the disconnect in my personality and a lot of people here lol
Yeah, grown out of Smith's.

My Cure days after two decades gone.

No happy music, other than Christian music.

You can complain all you want to about the play calling, wr’s not getting open, and nico. But at the end of the day, it all stems from one problem: our OL. We have 3 5th year guys out there and still are struggling to the point it’s handicapping our offense
Bingo.

I unironically listen to Stryper if that counts haha
Oh my….heard a song from them on XM Hair nation today

I laughed out loud. Parents let their kids listen to them because they were a “Christian Hair Band”

Actually, they were , “music wise” really good, but I need my Crue, Ratt, and Guns.

We haven’t recruited well enough at oline before last years class. That’s just the facts unfortunately. It’s known our OL coach isn’t exactly a stellar recruiter.

If we had Golesh we would still be where we are right now? Is he going to magically make the oline better? Is he gonna force CJH to trust the QB more? I seriously doubt it.
