Chaz Nimrod was open crossing through the end zone on the final play. Tough throw but was there.

In that moment he looks open, but there are two safeties in the area one is fading back and the other was in position to peal back on the ball if thrown. It was at best a toss up ball.

Not going to fault Nico for playing it conservative and trying to get another play in. That was the mode Heupel had him in all night.

Heup is going to have to turn Nico loose now and let him learn. The loss has already happened, you're going to have to beat either Bama or GA and win the rest to have a chance at playoff. Get him ready for next year you make a run.

Thoughts on Saturday: Offensive line was awful, Lance Heard in particular. I was shocked at how bad the o-line looked. Defense was not bad except for playing soft zone vs a backup qb in the last four minutes, we should have stacked the box. Nico was off, probably because of lack of protection, misread several blitzes and should have taken more check downs.
Arkansas did several things totally out of the character for what they have done this year. I watched several Arkansas games and Green never threw the ball like he did Saturday. there were several balls that should have been picked but Lady luck was smiling on him. The Arkansas o-line played 10x better than in any of their other games, we should have played less straight up rushing four and more eight on the line and dropping out and disguising blitzes.
Our backs are now firmly against the wall we have to beat both Alabubba and Georgia and we will find out a lot about this team. Hope they stop reading their press clippings.

You call it Lady Luck, I call it safeties running a 4.8 forty for the fourth season in a row. If we are not going to get guys like Mike Matthews & Seldon the ball then dammit start those guys off on defense on the back end. Enough of this mid major Big12 BS

I think we all forget just how fast these guys are moving and how quickly you have to make decisions. There’s not really anyway for him to predict that Chas was going to break off his route and come streaking back in to his point of view for a TD

Thank goodness the Alabama game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. now all these old individuals can be in bed by 8:00 p.m. like normal.

When an opponent is all emotional like that you have to come out hot, bust their noses and step on their necks. Destroy their confidence!

We let them hang around and even push us around and it started feeding on itself. Then all this "playing out of their heads" crap starts perpetuating itself.

We did not put on more steam. We were not the more prepared team. The General would have kicked every @$$ on that sideline, from the opening drive all the way to Knoxville. Starting with the coaches.

Then seemingly took our foot off the gas and got lackadaisical again. Led to stupid mental errors that got Ark right back in it.

#1 got picked on for a whole drive too, didn't look like he knew where he was sometimes

Nico is still adjusting to SEC speed. That combined with bad OL play is making him throw even faster than necessary. We’re not putting him into a position to succeed. His awareness also isn’t great right now but I think that improves if he has more time to throw.

Hey VN we could use some prayers from my son. He is a police officer in Nashville and was forced to use deadly force Friday night. He had only been with the force a year and one day. I will not share the video for content reasons, but if any of you are in LE or similar fields I would like your feedback. Just type in October 4 officer involved shooting Nashville in YouTube. My stomach has been in knots. I am just glad he is still with us. Great kid, graduated APSU Suma Cum Laude. He is a mess as you can imagine.

Hey now! I’m not one of them old people, but I do enjoy having my team done before midnight! Ever since the ESPN shift, these games last forever!

That being said, I would have liked for a night game against Bama. We need as many drunks as we can get belting Rocky Top all night long!!

Imagine if we’d had a TO here and hadn’t just burned one for no reason. Or if we had 30 seconds on the clock like we should’ve. Nico may have been more willing to look into the flats. Walk in TD for Sampson.

Sampson rolling out of the backfield was uncovered MANY times. I was screaming HIT SAMPSON several times but Nico couldn't hear me. Nico was pressing, I don't think he even glanced at his check down most of the game, he was always looking to take the downfield throw.

My doubt is growing for sure. Haven’t written them off but this UF game will be very telling. I honestly expect a loss but obviously that’s why you play the game. I think Nico is talented but appears to have stage fright right now. Maybe rightfully so with the putrid OL that is supposed to be “blocking” for him. They are both gonna have to figure it out quick. The fanbase either loves you or hates you. I think the OU game and the “we dialed it back for you Nico” was pure coach speech because Heup knows he is hamstrung in a big way offensively. They are going to continue seeing the 3-3-5s and 3-2-6s thrown at them until they can prove they can adjust and are talented enough to do so. And until they are able this fanbase is going to grow more irritable whether right or wrong. To have the deepest, most talented team you’ve had since you’ve been here and to put up 2 b2b games offensively like that is telling to say the least. No more coach speak. No more canned, rehearsed answers. You’re either good or you’re not. Right now. We. Are. Not. And that is concerning given the roster.

All valid points. Agree that the UF game will be very telling. I an still a little bit in wait and see mode but I do believe it will get fixed.

But he did beat Bama, Clemson, now OU, etc.
So this really isn’t saying anything considering teams lose all the time.

Numbers don’t lie.

That ‘22 team was special and that offense put big numbers in everyone. No doubt about that.
Also lost to Mizz, SCar, ark.

Not a nega by no means. Just hope we see some new wrinkles or schemes.
