Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I'm baffled by those turning on Heupel, saying everyone has figured out our offense. What do they expect to happen? Do they think DW is going to fire him or something? That would be stupid. For one, we're still on probation. And two, coaches are not lining up to come to Tennessee. Does he need to make some adjustments to his staff? Possibly. But Josh Heupel isn't going anywhere unless it's by his own choice. And that would be devastating to this program.
Elarbee needs to go but I think Heup has called solid games on offense the last 2 weeks. Film shows a ton of throws that are available. For many reasons, they aren’t being hit. Wanting CJH fired (albeit that’s a small % of our fan base) is asinine at this point.

I love our coach and what he is building. It’s a process and we are coming
Same. I've just seen some posters bitching, saying he's been figured out. I don't think that's necessarily true. We have a bad OL and an inexperienced QB. We're limited in what we can do.

Paige wasn’t one of the ones talking smack. Although quote-tweeting her, he’s talking about the idiots in the comments
Well, i don't do the tweeter so I can't see the comments. Looks like he would have been better off directing his aggression at the ones that were disrespectful.

How much confidence you got in Rodon in Game 1? Also, is Gil going to get a start ?
He’s pitched well against them in the past, but man he’s inconsistent…..Cleveland is also really good against lefties . I’m probably a 6/10 on the confidence level.

Need the bats to really wake up

Just want to point out that Joe Milton going into the Bama game last year had played about as up and down as Nico. The A&M game was maybe worse.

Joe actually played pretty damn well against the tide.

28/41 271 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ran the ball well. He didn't make plays in the second half, but the offense came out in that game playing really well. Played well against UK and UConn, then the turnovers against Mizzou derailed it. We've seen the staff male adjustments as the season goes on.

May have already been posted, but the Florida win is the first time since the 2019-2020 taxslayer bowl that we came back from being down 2 scores to win
I thought we were down two scores to Pitt in 22? Unless this is about being down by two scores in the second half

The thing I am most impressed by and will set the tone for the rest of the year is not settling for a FG in overtime.

They could have easily taken 3 knees and kicked.

Instead they drove it down their throats and mixed run and pass.

That was aggressive and tone setting.

The team responded.
Bingo! I am hoping it gets the stale and lack of confidence taste out of their mouth after Josh went super conservative in the second half of Oklahoma. I think that really affected us all the way through the Arkansas game. I think Nico‘s fumble on the first drive Affected us for the rest of the half. If he doesn’t fumble that and probably scores on the keeper or at least gets close, the outcome may have been extremely different and the game may have gotten out of hand quickly. We need a lot of good things to happen early on Saturday, so that the offense stays confident, and Josh stays aggressive with his playcalling.

Happy Monday. Hope this finds who it needs to.

October 14, 2024: Be gentle with yourself. You need healing both emotionally and physically, and beating yourself up because you do not feel like you measure up will only be harmful. Give yourself to God, and he will heal you and set you free. 1 Peter 5:6-7 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
