It’s my weekly mock.

Dude. Really. Our offensive on field performance is not passing the eye test.
The eye test of the media has nothing to do with the panel for the CFP they are two separate entities

Clemson hasn’t beaten a team with a pulse yet and that is just a fact. Historically even in a 4 team playoff the SEC got in two teams sometimes. Hell an undefeated ACC team got left out just last year because of their strength of schedule…i just don’t see your what your argument is based on history? There is just no way that the ACC gets two teams in if they have a similar record to an SEC team..

In a 12 team the SEC should get in 4 based on strength of schedule alone depending on how everything shakes out. Regardless this is a fruitless convo with how much football there is left to be played.

Auburn is probably going to finish with a losing season, yet they currently have the #5 recruiting class. How in the hell are they keeping that class together? The obvious answer is money, but you would think there are winning teams out there willing to match Auburn's offers for some of these kids.
Classes are rarely affected by the current season, unless there's a coaching change. The experts have repeated this for years. They're built on relationships from months or years ago.

And in the case of a new HC, obviously the rebuild is an easy sell and current losing is an easy excuse.

Hypothetical time!

Let’s say Oregon, Penn State, and Indiana all win out (yes, that would entail PSU beating Ohio this weekend, and Indiana winning at Columbus). But let’s say they do. That would lead to the 4th tie breaker to see who goes to Big 10 championship game, which is this: “The tied teams will be compared based on the best cumulative conference winning percentage of all conference opponents.”

Does the committee keep out a closer loser in the Big10 championship and/or an undefeated team that didn’t make the game because of a 4th tiebreaker?
Pretty obvious answer, no? All three would be safely in, while Ohio State at 3 losses would have players opting out of their bowl game and a coaching search underway.

Calm down. Those narratives are only getting pushed on here by negavols.

UT loses to Georgia in a close game, then they still have a decent chance of making it
Exactly.

Go whip up on UK, Vandy, and keep it respectable in Athens, there's not even a sweatdrop for a team that's 12-14 pts from being undefeated in the new SEC.

We finished 7th in 2022...and we got whipped by USCjr late in the year on top.

There are cabin out in the plains that are used for recruiting. It would get the best of any young man

Something will be done because the current situation is unsustainable. The players hold all the cards and are taking advantage of the power vacuum that was created with the death of the NCAA. I can't and won't remain that the players can at any point take the money and run or quit and leave midseason.
Once the power structure of CFB is all sorted out NIL and the portal will be taken care of.
Make them employees.

Pay them according to the market. This will mean something like a $30-$40mm roster. Coaches and admins will make much less, as their programs make much less than, say, professional teams.

Since they are employees, they'll be on contract. Maybe there's a free agent system or something IDK, but your best players would be tied down by said agreements.

The schools/employers would go back to paying the majority of player income, rather than fans funding NIL

All this discussion about which 10-2 team the CFP committee might pick. Remember that the committee usually puts more weight on the best team that a 10-2 team has beaten. That’s why we need Alabama to keep winning.

That’s also why Clemson May be in trouble. Best team left on their schedule is Pitt and if they beat them they will probably drop out of top 25. Clemson probably has to win ACC championship game to get in.

I hate how everyone is assuming we lose to UGA. Our defense hasn’t allowed 20 points in a game all season, and Beck is turnover prone. It’s a pretty disrespectful take imnsho
It’s away though. Love Heupel, but outside of LSU in 2022, when has Tennessee went to another stadium and won?Don’t count Vandy and Kentucky.
