Watched Replay of Tennessee vs Louisville basketball game this morning.

Cade Phillips is a pesky defender with some scoring ability around the rim. Igor seems to be still adjusting to the system and Chaz Lanier still hasn't seen a shot he doesn't like.

Zakai still loose with ball but like I stated Saturday there's more good from Zakai than the bad.

Lady Vols vs MTSU tonight on ESPN+ .

Agree with your points. Chaz is not as smooth as Dalton but you look up and he has 19. I like this team and think there could be something there by years end if they can mesh. There are a lot of really good parts to build with but I think there will be some frustrating losses this year early and that will build to something bigger and better by the end.

As for GA, I suppose you are counting Texas as elite. We'll see. But that was a "boring" (your criterion) and "defense-first" (which is a negative, according to you) win -- with Texas's QB out of the game. 30-15 sounds like the kind of Tennessee win you sneeze at.

I don't see GA's second "elite" win. Clemson is not elite.

Yeah, I was thinking they had beaten Bama.


But yes that Texas win is the best of the bunch. On the road @ the SEC reg season champ, or at least one of the teams who tied for it.

Gotcha...UGA lost to Bama on the road...they have 1 really good road win against Texas though. If we can beat UGA on the road, we'd have a signature home and road win and that should be enough, regardless of what happens @ Vandy. Though if we were to lose that Vandy game we likely end up being the 11 or 12-seed. We beat UGA and Vandy, we're in Atlanta. Win the SEC ship and we're a top 4, lose and we likely the 5-7 seed.

We haven't looked dominant in any SEC game this year. That is clear to see.

What is also clear to see is that our defense does look dominant so it's allowed us to not be so dependant on the offense - it backfired against Arkansas but it has worked in every other game.

Starting Saturday this offense needs to step up and start to playing at a high level.

The offense can figure it out and the defense continues to dominate we will be a scary playoff team.

Let's go beat the pups and go win the SEC.

Sounds like gamesmanship to me. He's going to keep Kirby/UGA guessing until warmups on Saturday.

Definitely need him to play. Also with GameDay being in Athens, hope Heupel is ready to call an aggressive game on the road.

They did but that also goes both ways. Kentucky beat Ole Miss @ Ole Miss. Scorewise, we would have dominated Kentucky. WRs dropped several sure TD throws.

The '98 team had several semi "close" games. I'm not comparing us as a team to them but we are winning in similar fashion. Dominant defense and run game. Passing game execution has been lacking but Nico has looked better, the receivers just needed to catch better.

UT also had to struggle to get in the title game that year. Wasn't it because a couple teams lost in the last game or 2? Kansas St, I think.

Good thing is, there isn't a lot to figure out. . . just catch the dang ball. We start hitting a few deep shots or drawing some PI. . . you think Sampson looks good now, wait til the defense has to respect the pass.

There’s at least a chance 5 SEC teams get in

1 team from the ACC, 1 from Big12, Notre Dame and G5.

Big 10 gets 3 with us beating out their 4th bubble team.

Ole Miss lost to a team (LSU) that got blitzed at home by a team we beat (Bama) and also lost to a bad team at home (UK) that we beat.

UGA lost to a team we beat.

If your post means you’re taking into account Ole Miss beating ARK while we lost to them, you must also take into account these things.

So the better question is. TN or Ole Miss

I just looked through some of his stuff. He's a Florida State guy (podcast) and on a long standing anti-SEC trip. He's trying to justify leaving out Tennessee specifically, and any other SEC team, out. Not a serious person imo. I don't know where he went to school.
