Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Ole Miss lost to a team (LSU) that got blitzed at home by a team we beat (Bama) and also lost to a bad team at home (UK) that we beat.

UGA lost to a team we beat.

If your post means youā€™re taking into account Ole Miss beating ARK while we lost to them, you must also take into account these things.
Say it louder for the people on the back...

We have a better record than them and beat them, in the actual field kiddo
The argument (not saying I agree) is in a hypothetical where UGA beats us and UT and Bama both win out, Bama would have the better SOS and overall resume.

I donā€™t buy it though because you canā€™t just forget Bama lost to Vandy, and at the end of the day any justification that starts out with ā€œif Tenn didnā€™t have this defenseā€ is crap, because we doing fact have an elite defense and it should count for something.

This doesn't look great. Just keep winning.

Unfortunately the narrative is starting to spin towards Bama getting in over us with 2 losses (assuming we lose Saturday). My thinking is 2 losses still gets us in IF the loss is to UGA and itā€™s a respectable (10 or less) loss. If we go into Athens and get demolished, I donā€™t think we get in unless we blank UTEP and Vandy by a combined 100+ and Bama and/or Ole Miss lose.

If you can ignore the noise about the playoff for a second, it's really cool that were in a mid November game with SEC and national title's on the line.

I remember always hating having the Florida and Bama games so early. The season was decided a lot of times well before November. The journey of this season, while nerve racking at times, how much fun has it been beating the brakes off ncsu, OU, Florida, Bama... Building to this point.

We've played ourselves in to this position, we control our own destiny and can take whatever narratives that exist and throw them in the trash can. The fact that opportunity exists just 4 seasons after the Pruitt era... And really, the second time the last three years... We've come a long way. And the future isn't looking too shabby either.

And the best part, as much hand wringing we're all doing about this scenario or that, do y'all know how many fan bases are rooting for UGA this weekend to improve their narratives? We could disappoint a whole host of people Saturday night. Ole Miss, Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, aTm, Notre Dame, Indiana, PSU... Clemson probably. Miami and SMU too.

What fun that would be... And if not, we're looking at another 10 win season, another win over Bama and Florida and still a shot at getting in to the playoff.

So let's go. GBOšŸŠ

We actually have fans out there arguing that our offense looked better with Gaston Moore out there. Living breathing people.

I'm sorry, but Facebook vols have left the foot all forum in the dust.
His underthrown deep passes to get a PI satisfied an itch that has been nagging me though...just saying

Theyā€™re the people that keep Long John Silverā€™s in business.

If you don't go on Facebook, does it actually exist?

Brooks Austin UGA's beat writer lamenting their line play. They apparently had some Dooleyesque oline recruiting in 2022 and 2023.

Our D line will need to bring the A game and show up pissed off and hungry.

Thatā€™s bs theyā€™ve had incredible OL recruiting they just havenā€™t developed well I guess. No reason they shouldnā€™t have one of the best OL in country.

If the offense wouldā€™ve dominated the last few weeks, none of us or the media would be talking about leaving UT off.

I get our defense has looked amazing, but WHO we have we played other than Bama?

Letā€™s say we get the 11th or 12th seed. Does our defense hold against OSU then AGAIN against a top 4 team? Iā€™m not sure.

Letā€™s put it all to rest by beating the **** out of UGA. Thatā€™s the best way to do it.
OSU just dominated a Nebraska team that lost by almost 50 the week before. We are at a place we can compete against anyone in the country and win some and lose some but look how far weā€™ve come and itā€™s just going to get better. Ga was tied with Florida in the 4th with them playing a walk on freshman at QB over half the game. We beat Bama. If our O was better, they would STILL talk Bama and others over us.

You are right, we need to win Saturday and on the road, it will be tough.
