Prepare for logic to be destroyed, it’s coming.Indiana at 11-1 is not getting in over any 10-2 SEC team. Especially if they get blown out by Ohio State. Their resume is pathetic. It would totally destroy the logic of creating super conferences if going 11-1 with a soft schedule gets you in over a 10-2 team that ran a gauntlet.
My sentiments exactly. I don't care who plays qb we win with defense. I agree that Tennessee has the best defense in the country and that Georgia won't score over 14. The defense has not really been unleashed much this year. Saturday is a perfect example, we sat back in cover two and rushed four most of the time.Don’t anybody take my comments the wrong way; I ain’t no doomer for this weekend. I’ve got full faith in what I think is the very best defense in college football this year to go down and empty out Sanford. I don’t really care which QB plays between Moore and Nico because I don’t think we’re going to need a lot of points to win this one anyhow (Not to mention we’ve got the league leading rusher to take the top off).
I haven’t seen any predictions yet, but here’s mine:
Vols 21
Puppies 7
Heupel gets the biggest road win of his career so far and we get to go to Atlanta and win the whole damn thing
Would love for this game to be the LSU game from 2022! That would be a major statement! We really need to press the line of scrimmage on defense the entire game. We cannot sit back in soft zone, hope our front 4 gets there, and give Beck easy throws to get him in a groove. Need to make him uncomfortable early and often. My sentiments exactly. Georgia's issues are not easily remedied. Offensive line is a major issue for them. The really can't run the ball, which leads to putting the game on Lurch and they can't protect him which leads to turn overs. Georgia's defense is pretty good but not dominant.
Tennessee's issues for the most part have been fixed. We have overcome the loss of our signal caller on defense and sorted things out defensively. I know I am going to get flamed on this but our much maligned offensive line has gotten healthier and has become an asset and not a liability. There are probably those who will disagree but the complaints about our O-line are just a repeated narrative and not based on facts.
I say we handle the Dogs and everybody else. These are the good ol' days. WGWTFA.
As long as I can remember Georgia has imagined themselves as being just like Alabama. Today Bowl Cut sees himself as Nick Saban just like Dooley saw himself as on par with the Bear. Even with the last fifteen years we beat have beaten them more often than not. Doley had Hershel Freaking Walker for three years and only could squeak out one championship. That last time I was in Athens when we beat them, those bastards turned their scoreboard off the second the clock it zero to prevent people from taking photos.
So if you're going and we're winning, start snapping photos on repeat with a couple of seconds remaining.
Tennessee has not shown much extra pressure on defense because they haven't really had to and we may not need to against Georgia. Much to the shagrin of many of our fanbase the Vols have been content to sit back, give yards, and hunt ints. We sometimes go to a bear front and show simulated pressure or go cover one or zero when the other team gets in field goal territory when the grass gets scarcer. Every once and awhile you get a glimpse over overwhelming smother but most of the time it is very standard cover two and rush four because we can.Would love for this game to be the LSU game from 2022! On FanDuel on the cover for sure. Hard to tell on drafkings since the don’t show how much of the money is going. But the number of people putting money on UT is interesting. Could probably conclude that it is. I’d still wait until at least Thursday to see though. So this means the money is coming in for Tennessee to cover and for Tennessee to win?
Agreed, we really haven’t had to do any exotic blitzing. Our DLine gets home ALOT and our secondary can cover extremely well even on islands.Tennessee has not shown much extra pressure on defense because they haven't really had to and we may not need to against Georgia. This year's Tennessee defense is not just stout it is dynamic and a weapon.
