The whole playoff era in terms of selecting teams has been hogwash (tcu/baylor, osu/psu, fla st/bama etc..). There is a soft shell criteria they are supposed to use, but they dont. Every week there’s a new criteria/rationale they use to justify the weekly rankings. The newest rationale appears to frequently debunk the rationale they used the previous week. Its a mess. Hell, we currently have 1 active AD on the committee, which screams bias and corruption. Especially when that program was caught for spygate. 🙄

We need strict, concise, and transparent criterias for selecting the “best” teams (like each conference uses for tiebreakers). We also need committee members who aren’t currently employed to any d-1 cfb program. We should also have access to the same computer “metrics” the committee uses, so we can understand their “logic”.

Why can't the FBS be just like the FCS playoffs?

It's simple and it works.

We changed up the OL in the 2nd half to our "run first" guys. Dayne/Lampley came in...pretty sure Spraggins was playing though still.

The 4 names you mentioned are the main ones. Would be a big game to have West back ideally the DL at full strength = best case for us.

Why is this surprising? Warde 'Freaking" Manuel is the chairman. I'm shocked Michigan and Rutgers aren't in. This committee is a total joke. Gary Stinky Pinky and woman whose specialty is the Olympics and soccer are on it. If only we could have Oprah, Bruce Gender, and Taylor Swiftless on there, that would be perfect.

Pate had a good point, for the FBS, you are not necessarily what your record says. It's just the way it is. All schedules are not created equal like the NFL. Some conferences are stronger, schedule strength has a luck of the draw to it year over year. There are 10-2 and even 9-3 teams that would steamroll 1-loss and undefeated teams. The struggle is while true, it takes subjective judgement and everybody has an opinion when taking that into account.

I just don't see a world where a 8-1 record in the ACC or even the Big10 is the same as an 8-1 record in the SEC this year. And BYU and Indiana would not have the record they do now if they played an SEC schedule, even if it is an "easy" one.
