Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Honestly the OL is my biggest question mark for this game.

I am HOPING they play up like they did against Bama. That game we ran for 214 yards and 5.0 ypc.

We've had 2 very good passing games the last two weeks, and had Nico played the 2nd half healthy Mississippi State would have been an even bigger yardage game.

We ran for 4.2 YPC in both games...which is good, but Mississippi State is the worst rushing defense in conference and has averaged giving up 5.2 YPC...so I feel like the OL didn't perform as well as they should have against what's the worst defense they have faced in SEC play.

All things considered we're trending in the right direction on O since losing at Arkansas.. scored 23 on Florida and had 300+ yards, then 24 on Bama and 408 yards, 28 against Mildcats and 477 yards, 33 against Miss State and 452 yards (in a 2nd half where we basically packed it in to run the clock out and get the game over).

Defense has also held every opponent since Arkansas under 20 points, under 375 total yards and recorded at least 2 turnovers in every game despite the running success of the Cats & Dogs neither ran for 200 yards or 5 ypc.

Georgia has been inconsistent all year so really not sure how they are trending. They've turned it over at least twice in their last four games. And the two tempo teams they faced Miss State & Ole Miss both put up 28 or more points and 380 or more total yards on them.

Tate is not getting on the balls of his feet at all. He is playing flat footed. To be honest Ole Miss has been more successful passing than us. I believe we can and will win, but i also believe this will be much much tighter than the Ole Miss affair. 3 main reasons.

Gaston (good player, but tough 1st start)
Road Game (not our strength)
Elimination Game (Kirby has been excellent in bounce backs. Look at Texas)
I am not saying that we blow them out and you are right Ole Miss is a passing offense and has been better than we have. I don't think our offense is much of a factor in this game. I think if we score more than two touchdowns we win.

They gave Kirby Smart all the fodder he needs for this weekend.
They gave Josh Heupel all the fodder he needs for this weekend.

I’m tired of acting scared of uga. “Oh no, don’t make them mad or they might really take us behind the woodshed”. Time for teams to start worrying about them Vols

Interesting 🤔 I don’t recall anyone considering this perspective 👀

The committee would say Alabama has better wins than Tennessee and passes the eye test more readily unfortunately and I feel as though we would be left out... which is dumb cause games aren't played on paper, they are played on the field and we beat Alabama by a touchdown. It wasn't a fluke, it wasn't due to the refs, it was due to the fact that we were the better team. And I believe we still are the better team to this day. If we went into Bryant-Denny stadium this weekend, we would beat Alabama -our defense is Elite, and our offense does what it needs to do to win.

Now the question is do we go into Stanford Stadium and beat Georgia this weekend. That's the one monkey we haven't gotten off our backs yet. Honestly, I think we can win with Nico or Gaston Moore as long as we score 14 points in the first half -two deep ball catches resulting in touchdowns and we win the game in my opinion. That will get the crowd out of it and put Georgia's defense out of sorts. If we score 14 points in the first half then we win.
