You don’t think the odds of CJH read on him being better than yours are astronomical? This year should be way better, next year the trend maker, where coach can reassess the production, especially factoring in this years HS and potential portal additions. Not the depleted post Pruitt room and additions willing to sign on while the NCAA hammer was looming. And a head coach can never be wrong right? Jesus you have got to be kidding me.
Pruitt had several defenses that were top 25 in pass defense. I dont' think Martinez cracked the top 100 until his 3rd year and that was largely due to having an elite Dline.Because when Pruitt was here the secondary still sucked and the LB and DL play was average in comparison…did you watch the games? The secondary had a steeper hill to climb than the DL and LB room. The DB cupboard was simply bare when Heupel got here
In 2020 we gave up over 2,658 pass yards good for 99th in the nation out of 127 teams…again the argument is that it was the weakest unit on defense talent wise and statistically when he took over and that is a true statement. Has Martinez been great? No, but comparing him to the DL and LB coaches in terms of the talent they inherited is disingenuousPruitt had several defenses that were top 25 in pass defense. I dont' think Martinez cracked the top 100 until his 3rd year and that was largely due to having an elite Dline.
That is the epitome of pure stupidity...surely to goodness somebody will shut that loophole. The official CFP site still states that the 5 P5 conference champions will receive automatic bids.
The Pac12 will still exist as a 2-team conference through 24-25 season with Oregon State and Washington State as the sole members competing in 4 sports (football, track&field, women's gymnastics, and wrestling).
That means as of now, one of Washington State or Oregon State would be presumed to steal a CFP automatic bid in 2024.
