Recruiting Football Talk VIII

They were both incomplete passes.
By rule taking two steps and securing the ball by their TE should have been considered a fumble after the hit. Nothing in the rulebook suggests otherwise, but im not going to argue with low football IQ ppl on it. We still got outplayed yesterday so it wasn’t the biggest reason

Nico will surpass him by a few TDs and few hundred

took last nights loss pretty hard.

I mean, uga is as vulnerable as they’ve ever been. They’re not that good. Top 3 backs missing. Top 3 receivers missing. Mash unit OL.

And they dominated us post first quarter.

It’s the kind of game that really makes me wonder if we’ll ever be elite again.

And I love me some Heupel, but I’m seriously doubting his system can win in the SEC.
He definitely need to add more wrinkles to it. Would be nice to have TEs run those skinny post routes down the seam. Ethan Davis would eat on those routes. He needs to mix it up more, our WRs are trash though.

The Vols brand is a dynamic passing attack. It's what recruits come here for. Every great high school QB dreams of it. It's what every team feared from us.

We're 10th in the SEC in avg yards per game passing and 10th in TD's passing. That's not good. As Ron Jaworski used to say.. "Points come from the passing game."

You might embararass yourself. Why don't you go watch the 3rd and 25? He rushed 4 amd dropped everyone to the freakin' sticks. Its the most egregious defensive play calling I've seen since the 4th and 30 something he gave up to will levis at KY. Any defensive coordinator worth his weight in horse manure would have sent the house to not give him the 45min of pocket time to get the pass off he needed.
That was bad and the biggest thing is we just NEVER adjusted.

At some point in a 12 game season, you have games where both sides of the ball have to win the game. The defense has done it all year. The offense has to execute and not lay an egg in a half. That defensive call has worked hundreds of times- literally.

Ya”ll enjoy acting like you can do it. Have fun.
You drop near the sticks on third and long but not to them UNLESS it was 4th down. Malpractice to do it on second down. Don't defend it and show a lack of knowledge. It turned a 2 and 24 to a 3 and 9 even without the penalty.

They were both incomplete passes.
The problem is that the rules are subjective, purposefully. I saw no replay that showed bobbling on either play (both receivers had the ball) but the time of possession was miniscule. 10-15 years ago, both might have been fumbles. Last night, neither was.

But irrespective of how we played, the obvious slant toward GA on almost every call is going to cause calls like those to be suspect.
