Our corners are way better than the last few years. Boo is a first year solid player. We need to get better at safety and yes, I know who coaches safeties.Sure it did, that's why the defense looked good. The secondary as a unit is really no better than previous years. Should we expect one of the highest paid coordinators in the country to make in-game adjustments?
Also, I'll add, if you watch the line, they had 7 in to block most of the time. That means all the d-line were double teamed but one. I don't think that's fair to expect the line to beat double teams all game.
I agree with this. Smart knows how to defend Heupel’s system. That’s actually the problem in this case.
There’s no knee jerk reaction.
Georgia clearly knows how to use defenders like him, and will always stop Heupels offense. (As it is right now)
Unless Heupel gets some help with strategy- Gass, Hayward, Harmon, Smith will all lose to UGA every year they are here .
Its not the players. It's the scheme. Trying to get to the qb with 4 against 7 blockers doesn't work. You can have an NFL secondary and when you back off or give the qb time to read war and peace while having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before he throws, the recievers win 99% of the time. When you never change your scheme and keep letting the other team gash you in every phase, you won't win. I just hope he doesn't cost Heupel his job.Our corners are way better than the last few years. Boo is a first year solid player. We need to get better at safety and yes, I know who coaches safeties.
My favorite exchange was when Kirk was highlighting that Beck was moving back before the snap on their last drive. He said that should’ve been a false start, but then that idiot referee in the booth said something dumb like “you can send a running back in motion.” Then Kirk, kind of sheepishly said, but the quarterback was moving… and then he shut up. Later in the same drive, no one mentioned the wide receiver who jumped early, re-set, and then went in motion at the end of that drive. I figure Kirk learned his lesson and just kept his mouth shut on that one.Which one? The one by 86 or 4? I think both may have been catches and fumbles. However, it is funny to me that they showed the replay once on both of them and that was it! It’s like they didn’t want the viewers to see that they were covering up things.
They were held on almost every play in the second half. On Beck’s td run Lott was in a chokehold that allowed him to escape. On rewatch it ws much worse than I expected after watching it live. Absolutely criminally crooked officiating.DL was worse than the OL last night. OL wasn’t great and hasn’t been all season but DL was beyond disappointing last night for their expectations. We know the OL isn’t great but they held up better than expected. The safeties are and defense is vanilla. Mike bobo is garbage as is his quarterback but didn’t look that way last night
No sense in managing this back and forth. Reference the first sentence of my last post you quoted for my rebuttal. We can just agree to disagree. If believing we were in it till the end is some sense of moral victory, then I won't try and talk you off that hill.If your only down a touchdown in the 4th and have the ball driving you’re in the game whether” you feel” it was competitive or not. One play could’ve changed the whole game. And to stay in the game with a chance going into the final minutes in Athens going against the refs , the crowd noise, and a Kirby smart team, that’s all you can ask for. Again saying it was not competitive is a stretch. A game that’s 38-0 is not competitive . Big difference
nobody is claiming a moral victory or even said that but you. I’m just saying the game was far more competitive then what your going on about. To each their own.No sense in managing this back and forth. Reference the first sentence of my last post you quoted for my rebuttal. We can just agree to disagree.
