Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Wish the G5 teams had their own playoffs lol

None of them should be considered better playoff teams over the top 5-6 SEC, etc. It’s just a waste of a playoff spot.
I don’t mind seeing one or two charity cases a year get to experience a postseason VOLS shellacking but otherwise yeah… I agree.

Heup's not on the hot seat. He should not be on the hot seat. Heup has turned the program around. Very pleased overall with where they are. Disappointed that apparently they have not seen they are standing in their own way. Quit blaming the officials, report stuff to the SEC and fix your own issues. Until/if officiating is centralized and trained in the sport, it is a condition on the ground you work around.

It is now about taking the next step. Loyalty over competency is what puts you on the hot seat. Hire the competent that fit the program's goals that can truly help you win it all. Then let them do their jobs, be a quality boss and lead the program.

The ultimate goal is to do what Tony Voltello has done. He models how it is done well in every sport. In football in the SEC it is what Saban and Smart have done.

Everybody gets a periodic employee review by their supervisor unless they own the company, who also should seek input from trusted sources about his/her own performance. The supervisor is not doing his/her job if they do not address the deficiencies as well as compliment the successes and improvements. That's on Danny White when it comes to Heup.

The observations and patterns are what they after 4 years. Make changes to take the final steps so they can hoist the natty trophy on Rocky Top.
huep is not on the hot seat.

good grief that is dumb.

we are in cusp of being a playoff team.

I'm doing wonderful but thanks for your wonderful daily insight. Have a great evening.
Your posts are basically pointing at a dead horse and saying well so and so said lol who cares we either make it or we don’t and not a single member of this board can do anything about it. The expectation for the season was 10-2 and we are well on are way

Fair and your post are a continuous "I know more than everyone else" on a daily basis.

Once again have a nice day.

Sounds like you want the two best SEC teams to play for the national championship
I don't care about that. I want the best teams. The only teams that have a chance to be that are Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, Ole Miss, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. I could possible see Miami or Clemson. Particularly playing 3 extra games anybody else has no shot and we will end up watching preseason non con games.

One problem that will be difficult to overcome is the difference between the media darling and the media antagonist. So far the playoff committee seems enamored.

Media darlings in the playoffs race:
Texas
Bama
Georgia
Ole Miss
Indiana
BYU
Ohio State
Oregon

Sort of media favorites:
Miami
Colorado
Penn State
SMU

Media meh:
Texas A&M

Media antagonists:
Tennessee

What Tennessee needs most is for multiple media darlings to lose, some preferably more than once. What Tennessee also needs is for Vol Twitter to go dark. To run deep and silent like a hinter killer submarine. The less that the media hears from the Tennessee rabble, the better.

Just the thoughts of a playoff desperate VFL. (Not actually desperate, not gonna go negavol if we don’t make it). 🤠

14-2 🤠
is the new Orange
The fact that it has to be thought of in those terms is terrible. It doesn't make any sense but what if we just went with the twelve best teams. Nah, too crazy.
