Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Refs screwing Auburn and announcers calling them out.

Louis Riddick has quickly become my favorite announcer in CFB. Former NFL guy that doesn't care to call a spade a spade. I've heard him give more valid criticism to blatantly terrible officiating in this season than every other TV announcer combined over the past 25-30 years.

The guy just doesn't care about any blowback and calls it like it is....also extremely knowledgeable about the game as he played college and pro ball for years as well as working for multiple NFL organizations as Director of Player Personnel and has multiple family members that also played ball.

He is the most legit guy that ESPN has and he knows that any network would love to have him so he gives zero f's and blasts any BS he sees. He is also completely unbiased on his calls. Needs to replace Herbstreit and pair him with anybody other than Fowler (except Beth "Butterface-n-Body-n-Voice" Mowins.

the dream. My NYC born and raised gf is slowly, very slowly, coming around to it.

last night she said, "so the vols beat texas and they aren't #1 now?"

"babe, thats utep, not texas"

still love her but 😅
When I was married my ex wife watched football with me 1 time and 1 time only.

All the questions during the game she asked me🤷, so the next weekend I just handed her the credit card and told her to go shopping for herself. Come to think about, I believe that was her evil plan to begin with.

@KingVFL do you know why Norman-Lott was alone today? Feel bad for him

Yeah, didn't like seeing that but I hope he tells them to F off when he gets his NFL money and they come asking for a handout. And he is going to make some NFL money with his ability to play as a 3rd down DT that can get after the QB.

He is a little undersized (looked tiny beside Big O, though most people do) but has that good type of mean streak you want on defense, is quick as a cat and strong as an Ox-para (joke from the guy announcing our roundball game in the Bahamas). Guys who can pressure the QB up the middle are highly coveted in the NFL and we will miss him.

If my assumption about his family not being there to support him is unfounded then disregard and apologies to him and his family.

I asked King in the Sanders thread.

Said Tough Family Situation

His choice to be alone

Sign me up for that all day. 8 seed means host a playoff game and then play in the rose bowl.

Edit to add: sign me up from the perspective of a home game/rose bowl combination. Not from the perspective of having to play Texas and Ohio State just to get to the semifinals. That’s a tough draw.

I have an amazing wife. She grew up in the northeast, and didn’t appreciate college football when we first met. Today, my years of hard work paid off. Laying in bed, just woke up, and the first thing she says: "how is Georgia a lock for the SEC championship, and we're not part of the conversation?"
From one fellow southerner who is also married to a northeasterner, how long did it take and what is the blueprint? 😅 My wife doesn’t like sports all that much as it is, but especially doesn’t like football, so I may just be out of luck.

My last great plan is to get my two young daughters onboard and then mom will have no choice. Wish me luck!
