The CFP is absolutely a tv product. The committee members may not have TV exec titles but they are there to represent the interests of those who make money off of how profitable the CFP is. Which is the media companies and the presidents, chancellors that make money off of the ever growing media contracts. The committee isn't the media, at all. This isn't the AP doing the ranking.
2) Even if the media were the ones deciding, it would be stupid to have the biggest teams knocked out early. The later games are the biggest and you'd want the big hitters around for the next 3 rounds. The media would rather avoid early attrition.
So your conspiracy is these well-off, lifelong career folks voting on the football playoffs are being paid off by TV channels such as TNT and ABC on the side? The CFP is absolutely a tv product. 2) exactly
When I was really sick, pre liver transplant, I had to go to a urologist where they put a camera up there. It was far more painful than being caught in a zipper. One of those experiences I hope to never suffer again. So I'd have to imagine a fish swimming up there would be at least equally as painful, and very likely, more painful. So you get you some of that, but none for me.What if I like pain? I've accidentally zipped it up before.....not Something About Mary level "beans above frank" bad but it still was awful. Can't imagine a little fishy could hurt much worse, though the thought gives me the heebie jeebies.
I’m liking that we get a 3:30 game too. I think the last game, the team got off sluggish because tbh eh haven’t played that early in a long time. 3:30 gives them time to wake up and get in the zone but it’s not too late to where they are just sitting waiting all day.I think we are gonna blast Vandy. Our motivation (plus DSamp's) >>>>>>>>>> their motivation. They're already bowl eligible and blew their load when they beat Bama. Plus, Pavia is gonna make a business decision to stay in the pocket after the first half.
Huh? No.So your conspiracy is these well-off, lifelong career folks voting on the football playoffs are being paid off by TV channels such as TNT and ABC on the side?
Not impossible at all, but where's the proof?
Right, which I laid out previouslyPoint still stands, even if the media ran these folks, why would they put up the biggest names against one another in round 1? That would kill their longer term product of the next 3 weekends.
they won't do SEC vs SEC and Big Ten vs Big Ten in the first round. They'll mix this all up once they have their 12 teams. They won't know who is in for sure until after the Conference Championship weekend and they see who they can sneak in/leave out. Then they'll arrange the games to get the most views, and set up highly-anticipated second round games.
Just as an example, if they HAD to roll with the teams Heather is soft-pitching in that video, I think they would do:
Indiana at UGA with winner going to Oregon. UGA @ Oregon would be a big draw and they would try to set that up.
Vols at ND with the winner going to Miami. Committee hoping for ND to advance for Catholics vs Convicts. If our offense were more explosive they would be happy with Nico vs Ward.
SMU at Penn State, winner going to Texas. Or some other way to preserve OSU's cake walk.
They aren't worried about how the bracket would look this week. They may arrange them to have more talking points for their CFP release show and the talking heads all week.
What they're really waiting for is to see if they can sneak someone they love in the backdoor. Which would involve the ACC and Big12 sabotaging each other like the SEC did last week.
