No we need Texas to beat them and uga. Let them have their bye, that would make us the second sec team and bump us up over uga and increase our chances of hosting.

We don't know if the committee would penalize (drop in rankings) the loser of the conference championship game especially the team that already beat us head-to-head with better quality wins.

We do know if Texas lose to A&M this weekend they CANT rank Texas ahead of us bc they would have 0 quality wins. My opinion they would drop to 8th with us moving up to 7th in that scenario.

The committee has been on their knees all year for TX. They won’t drop below us if they lose unless that loss is by 21+.

This. I’m far more worried about them sneaking in and bumping us out, especially if we win but it’s a struggle against Vandy. I just don’t trust the committee at all when it comes to TN.

I disagree, but we’ll see what happens. The committee has only “been on their knees” because Texas hasn’t given them any reason to fall yet. A loss to A&M would give them a reason.

South Carolina could beat Clemson and jump into the top 12. Miami could lose to Syracuse which would put Clemson playing SMU for the ACC championship game.

It’s setting up to be a wild few weeks in College football!

You all need to get over your BVS. We’re not the last team in. We’re #8!!! Do you all not watch March Madness. Bid stealers don’t knock teams out that aren’t even close to the cut line. This isn’t a binary. If A&M wins out, the ACC is the conference that gets screwed. SMU or Indiana would get bumped not us.

Can't believe Bama loses by 3 touchdowns to a 5-5 team, earning their 3rd loss, and they still land at 14 with a chance to make the playoff.

It that had happened to the Vols we would've dropped to 20.

It’s not BVS, it’s the historical hypocrisy of the committee. They’re constantly changing their criteria every damn week. If you’re looking at 11-2 A&M, 10-2 TX, 10-2 TN, and 10-3 UGA as the SEC runner up, and they debate bumping one of them over a 11-1 Indiana or God forbid 10-2 Clemson, I absolutely guarantee they’d circle our names because of some BS reason they’d trot out. They’ve done it every year either to us or some other team and it’s ridiculous.
