Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Same. Tough loss in person. Explosive offense and no defense. Didn’t think they could score enough to keep up but I was wrong
That was my family's last game together in person.

To be fair, we had done Vandy 2013 and Vandy 2016 for Thanksgivings 🤢🤮. Thank god we sandwiched UGA 2015 one Fall in between 🥳

That 2016 game put the final scar on us 😆 We all said "never again". It had to be 30 degrees in Nashville and the 4th quarter was absolutely brutal..."Champions of Life" didn't help with the few Vandy fans around us 🤮😅

What happens in the SECG and A&M beats Ga, does Ga fall out with 3 loses?
Out of THE PLAYOFFS? No way.

We can hope they'll drop below us though with a solid beatdown. In that scenario, we may also already be behind Texas though. Not an optimal situation for us, potentially, if both stay ahead of us with close losses.

Committee has already said they will be evaluating conference championship games, so they aren't just freebie games for the losing teams (which is also sort of wild to me...I don't see conference championships lasting much longer..except the $$$ is too significant for AD pockets though...)

Seems the precedent set is that the Vols won't drop that far if they lose to Vandy. Because a 3 touchdown loss to an Oklahoma team the Vols beat on the road is a worse loss than losing to Vandy who Bama also lost to. Not to mention Tennessee beat Bama. So even if we lost to Vandy we will be the #1 3-loss SEC team and get first dibs at that playoff spot should a 3-loss team get in. (Mostly tongue-in-cheek)

I fully expect the committee will drop us to 16 if we lost.
The committee would absolutely kick us in the nuts given the opportunity.

It was said before the season that a 3 loss SEC team has finished in the top 12 every year of the playoffs.

How so many folks believed we couldn't even take 2 losses and still get in is still baffling to me. Maybe moving forward people will have a more realistic expectation (nahhh people will still be doom and gloom and ready to fahr everybuddy 😅🤣)
A 3-loss Tennessee wouldn't even be in the conversation this year.

No, SEC will raise hell if the SECCG loser is punished for playing in the conf title game.
They literally left Georgia out last year. They were punished just last year for playing the conference title game.

That being said I think they would stay in this year as the bottom seed. A&M would be out at 4 losses though.

Very busy. Need to limit negativity in my life right now and this place is questionable at best unless we are winning by 35 points a game. I will probably step away again now. Will pop in from time to time, but I have to focus my energies on my family and myself right now. Go Vols.
We will be praying for you and your family.
Sorry, I skipped some pages and missed this originally. 🙏🙏🙏🧡🧡🧡

Last year was a 4-team playoff, not a 12-team playoff. Huge difference.

Honestly, I’d rather play anyone in the field but Georgia. We just don’t match up well. I’m going to hold my nose and hope they win the SEC so that we avoid them in the first round. I’d gladly play TX/ND/Pedo St.
Agree Kirby is to Heupel what Saban was ro Kirby. I want no part of them until the end if we can help it.
