I’m sure some would, it depends on the circumstances. Texas would definitely rather beat Uga and get the bye then lose and be around 5-8. It will be harder on teams that lose the conference champ game than the teams that get a byeSure if you're a bad team you'd love to be there, but I would bet in an anonymous poll most coaches would choose 5-8
He still has to check in with @InVOLuntary on a semi-regular basis.Banks got released from the VN burn unit.
Get out of here Butch! Go on now! Shoo! Shoo!I'm giving him a mulligan on the Georgia game. Thought his game plan was awful, but everything was bad and it was Georgia on the road. We're 9-2 and have the best defense we've fielded in a long time.
With our lack of ranked wins this year, I agree. But the question was about any SEC team with 3 losses. Otoh 2022 Vols with 3 losses would be well in the conversation.A 3-loss Tennessee wouldn't even be in the conversation this year.
I'm torn who to pull for in the Clemson usc gameWith our lack of ranked wins this year, I agree. But the question was about any SEC team with 3 losses. Otoh 2022 Vols with 3 losses would be well in the conversation.
This year we'd be where USCjr is right now, but without a Clemson game ahead of us to get a final bump.
Ultimately irrelevant unless UGA also loses a close one in Atlanta. The close win over GT could help the committee push them below us.Say UT smokes Vandy Saturday, and uga struggles with GT, or vice versa, I wonder how that would effect the rankings
Bruj I hate it. Wish the stadium would sink into the ground.I'm torn who to pull for in the Clemson usc game
That’s it.Translation: We really don't have set parameters but ESPN likes ratings and storylines and we're tired of the SEC but we need Alabama and the dude from Michigan really likes the Big Ten and when people question our decisions we make up answers on the spot despite the fact that the answer we gave falls apart if any media hack bothers to look deeper.

Only thing that I think is a bit dumb...I completely get the top 12... but the thing that's a bit confusing to me is the committee has stated from the beginning "only the conference champion is guaranteed in"
Yet Ohio State, SMU, and Georgia are all being projected to lose their title game and still get in... and even with a 2nd loss Ohio State would be a 5 seed? and a 3 loss Georgia will be the 8?
Yup, they would have been in fine position among 3 loss SEC teams. Considering how strong their wins were.2022 Vols...wouldn't have made the SEC championship game anyway. Georgia vs LSU both had better conference records so not even the same conversation playing hypotheticals.
2022 Vols sitting at 10-2 were at 7th with Bama (who we beat head to head) ahead of us...
Most guys are at this point. He's already banged up
