Recruiting Football Talk VIII

but we don't do that. we will literally do what we have done in every big game. with no backup.

offense will have to win this, hope i'm wrong
The key for this game in particular will be our DL, LB and Boo. Which is great news for us because our DL is a mob of monsters and Boo is a star.

We need to contain their run game so they have to get yards with Pavia, which has been their recipe for success. If we are making his life hell in the pocket, and making him pay anytime he steps outside of it, it will severely limit their offense.

They do script some interesting stuff so if we can survive their brainiac play in the 1st Q, and then whatever trick play they have later on, we will be fine.

If we are containing their run game and punishing Pavia, AND our offense is cooking, we will be coasting.

Hope our OL and RBs are pissed about Sampson and the Joke Walker Award

We shut down Milroe in one of our biggest games of the season
Yes. I recall, defense had one of its best games. Also recall they havent played up to their capabilities in last three games. Pavia is injured but can still make plays off kilter, the TE over middle has been our achilles for years. Andy has two good ones. Also play resolute on the line. Wouldnt be near as concerned had GA not taken us to task with motion, bunch packages, and misdirection.

Vandy is a decent squad, and we will have to bring it. Can we get to Pavia and force mistakes? If we let them control ball and play keep away. we may have a hard time getting the Dub.

If we could just simply execute the relatively easy wide open plays that are there EVERY FREAKING GAME...we would be scoring 40 a game and be undefeated..

It is the weirdest thing I've ever seen...just seems to be a series of unfortunate events, but I really think that what has happened, is that early on a few weird things happened, and from there literally everybody got in their head...I don't think it's physical ability/talent related...I 100% believe it is just a mental thing.

It's like the whole offense is just waiting/expecting for something strange to happen...and it becomes a self fulfilling thing.

Confidence is a strange thing.
Agree with this take.

Happy Friday - good reminder - you are loved

November 29, 2024: Be done with self-doubt and condemnation. You can do this by not focusing on yourself. Set your heart and mind on things above and not on things below. Seek spiritual truth where you know that you are loved and valued. You are a child of God. Never doubt that. Romans 8:1: There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

UT - 46
Vanderbilt - 0

In General Neyland’s last regular season game, UT traveled to Nashville to play bitter rival Vandy. Pat Olesiak scored 3 TDs and passed for 2 more scores. Doug Atkins returned an interception for a touchdown as the Vols destroyed Vandy 46-0. It was the largest defeat of a Vanderbilt football team in history. Tennessee’s Defense allowed only 13 yrds of offense for the day. The win would even the series record at 21 wins apiece.
