Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Georgia dropped 8 spots with a 2nd loss losing to a highly ranked Ole Miss on the road, yet you are gonna tell me OSU only drops 6 losing to a terrible Michigan team AT HOME??!! That would be ludicrous! Sankey and Danny need to riot and blow up the committee’s phones if this happens!

I know the committee probably did not watch our game considering the Michigan vs Ohio State game was on, but if they didn't, I hope the at least look at the box score and not just the final score. This was as comprehensive a victory that could occur. This Vandy team beat Alabama and played Texas and Missouri to 3-point losses. They lost by 1 score at LSU. They had not been dominated like this all year. This was in their stadium, on senior day, and we gifted them a 14-0 lead. This is a beat down.

Don’t worry, even if they watched, all they heard was how uncharacteristic Vanderbilt was playing. There was nothing said about how we were dominating them after the 1st quarter yesterday.

UT - 31
Vanderbilt - 10

Jimmy Streater returned from injury to help lead UT to a 31-10 victory over Vanderbilt. Down 10-0 at the half, Streater hit Anthony Hancock for TDs of 41 and 85 yards and Roland James returned a punt 89 yrds to open the floodgates. Streater would set the UT record for career yards with 3,433. Hancock finished with 163 yrds receiving for the day.

We should've just kicked another FG in against Bama with 1 second left to win by two scores. Maybe then the head-to-head would have mattered prior to Bama losing at Oklahoma. I'll admit I was infuriated when we lost to GA and fell behind Bama in the rankings. We're two scores better than that Bama team without our turnovers. Nico keeps improving and Milroe stays the same. This would be my rankings.

1) Oregon
2) Texas
3) Georgia
4) Tennessee

If you asked me today, the three above us are the only teams I would not feel great about playing.

How about this athletic department?

Baseball national champions

Football playoff bound

Men’s basketball about to be in the top 5

Ladies looking like a top 25 team
I'm not trying to be greedy but I was just thinking about how if we'd beaten Arkansas we'd be playing Texas to win the SEC title, which would have made SEC titles a reality in each of the three major men's sports in the same calendar year. That would've been something.

But even without making it to Atlanta, it's been an amazing year all around.
