Probably making a joke…referring to Knoxville native and big Vol fan actor David Keith.David?
I admire your dedication in your quest of the ultimate worst take possible.I agree. I'll be shocked if we're ahead of Ohio State. I'm personally looking forward to playing at Ohio State. That's a place we've never played at before. It'll be a cool matchup to see. Ohio State coming down here will feel like when we host Bama. It would be cool. But I like the idea of us going up the horseshoe better. Also after we beat I don't wanna hear the excuse that we only won because of home field.
Wtf?
I most certainly don't want this team having to play on the road, versus basically any playoff-caliber team.
We need a home game, then I'm fine facing anyone on a neutral field.
OSU probably gets the nod with having 2 higher ranked wins than our best win, but here's to UGA and PSU getting RACKED and we host IU or PSU.
I’m thinking we need Oregon to hammer PSU.Top 4 conference winners get top 4 seeds. Winner of ACC will 100% get a seed above us. If Bsu loses to UNLV it will cause the B12 winner to jump us in seeding. Those games don’t matter for our seeding
SEC and B10 are the two games that might change our seeding but that’s TBD
Did you forget to put the blue font? What kind of head scratching nonsense is this? Regular season, sure. But in the postseason where you need all the help you can get to ensure there’s a next game, I absolutely do not want to play anywhere else but Neyland. Also, if you seriously believe that place won’t be rocking louder than it has ever been for a playoff game and will only sound like it does when we play Bama, you must be hitting some of that Devil’s lettuce.
I mean I get that, but just like anything risky in life, I want to do everything I can to make sure I come out on top. When you’ve only lost one home game in two seasons and yet you’ve lost 5 on the road, I’ll happily take the home odds versus the road ones any day of the week. For a long time in college football any regular season loss eliminated you from competing for a national title so I don't think the environments this December will be that much better than regular season environments like say when we played Bama. We'll face as intense an environment at Ohio State as we did at Georgia this year. We just need to sustain the effort we played with in the first quarter that game for 4 quarters.
I'm not scared to go on the road with this team. I think they're championship caliber. And championship teams win on the road in tough conditions.
why should Ohio be ranked higher than us? They have one loss against a good team and one against a 6-6 team. Same as us.They should definitely drop imo.
I'd have it OSU #7 seed, UT #8 seed, UGA #9 seed.
UGA loses and we host IU.
Go down to 8. A bye is way too much of an advantage. And we don't need kids playing so many games. I'd be fine with ditching conference championship games to be honest. 17 games is insane.Well like I said, this year has been a ton of fun. And last Saturday was outstanding.. And rivalry weekend was as good as it's been in a while with so many games being competitive and meaningful.
But... In still skeptical to some degree. I think 12 is plenty. Just change the format some.
Because they have 2 wins against playoff teams and we have (maybe) 1.why should Ohio be ranked higher than us? They have one loss against a good team and one against a 6-6 team. Same as us.
It’s just habit and pre-judging things that keeps us from jumping them. They were embarrassed at home. They started at the top (without merit) (past seasons don’t count). and OSU always drops less than others when they lose. They should drop however many positions we dropped when we lost to 6-6. or one position more since they were at home.
We deserve to host. Watch Ohio’s game last week and ours and tell me we’re not better. They’re not.
Bama is a playoff team except for us beating them. Indiana is not a playoff team in our league. So those numbers are deceiving. Ohio was just held to one TD at home. Drop them like everyone drops.Because they have 2 wins against playoff teams and we have (maybe) 1.
They are where they are because their conference is super top heavy, so one or two good games against decent teams usually means you beat two playoff teams. The committee doesn't care. Penn state and Indiana are playoff teams whether or not we agree they should be.Bama is a playoff team except for us beating them. Indiana is not a playoff team in our league. So those numbers are deceiving. Ohio was just held to one TD at home. Drop them like everyone drops.
They are basically where they are because they were born on 3rd base (at the top of polls) and we had to climb our way up. Preseason polls are garbage. Nothing they did on the field this year merited that special treatment.
