Now that he’s gone I’d bet we grab Gentle as our primary Satterwhite backup

Which is great imo. Develop Satt all season and when he needs a spell we have a veteran come in and play ball…. Ideal

Satterwhite will start once Nico is gone. Nico’s last season next year and I don’t think we want the growing pains for his last year.

Let Satterwhite grow once Merk or Gmac start and let them work out those kinks in a “down” season.

Agreed. We really need Penn state to get blasted by Oregon. That's our best chance to lock down a home spot. Even if Texas loses, unless they get crushed, they'll probably still be ahead of us. So we need uga and Penn state to lose by as much as possible.

The committee won't drop anyone out of a playoff spot for losing the champ game, but if they get blown out, I bet they'll drop them a few spots at least.

I think PSU does get blasted. 38-10 type game. They are pedestrian.

Honestly, Miami should be the at large that gets in.

Lost by 5 at Georgia Tech (7-5 and was one bad call away from beating Georgia)
Lost by 4 at Syracuse (9-3)

I'd put them in over SMU and any 3 loss SEC team personally.

What really blows for players on playoff teams is having to skip out on what you worked hard for in order to make a good decision for yourself. Unintended casualty of the new portal deadlines.

I feel bad that Ron spent his formative and most active years on VN posting booms over Butch Jones's recruiting wins, lol.

But hell, I bet 80% of my posts are from that era as well. It was such a contentious time to be a Vols football fan.

They are but they aren't. That's a good football team. But against a team life Oregon that has beaten OSU.. Very good skill, underrated at the los, and very good QB play...I think it's a tough matchup, especially for a coach that has a well deserved reputation for coming up small in the brightest of lights...I think Oregon can win, convincingly. If psu wins it's because they got Oregon to play the game the way they want to, and played extremely clean.. Not sure they can do that against this team.
