The 1st Rd are essentially “play-in” games. The playoff doesn’t start without the conference champions. I think they need to do away with the 1st Rd bye and also have the outcome of the conference championship game actually mean something in terms of ranking/seeding (for both winners/losers). To say there’s gonna be no movement from yesterday’s rankings is the most idiotic concept.

The 1st Rd is like the 16v16 in March Madness.

I can't see how that doesn't change anything for the rest of us sitting around. Obviously, Bama could be pushed out if Clemson wins-- and if Georgia and Penn State lose big, do they still stay in the same place? I don't get it.

I wonder where we’d be ranked right now if the AP poll didn’t drop us from 8 to 11 after the close game with UF. Would be ranked higher?

Georgia went up in the rankings after going 8 overtimes with Tech. If they actually watched that game they would know Georgia got significant help from the zebras on top of being incredibly lucky.

Yes, and they are saying we lost by two scores to Georgia at their stadium, where they never lose, but don't count that Ohio State was blown out at home by Michigan. The more I think about it, the angrier I get.

They're not going to drop Georgia behind Tennessee for the fact Georgia defeated Tennessee...

If UGA blows out Texas, then it's not guaranteed that Texas stays above us. They really don't have many quality wins and their strength of schedule isn't great. We need a dominant win in that game for either team, Oregon to blow out PSU, and Clemson to barely beat SMU (to hopefully boot Alabama).

We are in and i am good. I am just processing my disappointment on maybe not getting to see a playoff game. The UT hosted one was likely the only one I had a chance to swing.

I'm glad we're in. No chance I was going to the game anyway, so I'm more disappointed for the other fans and players not getting 1 more home game. It also sucks to lose home field advantage. OSU is gonna need every bit of help they can get to beat us.

I believe we'll see some big changes to the format after the season. No way it can go on like this. It's even worse than a clown show, it's an absolute clown show.

What is an elite recruit seeing there that they aren't seeing at TN or other schools similar? We are rising as a program and made the playoff-- yet trying to hold onto who we got so they don't flip/decommit.

AP said they’re overpaying for kids.

as if other schools haven’t already proven that’s not how you build a winner.
