Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Read this and then read the explanation for Miami. These people just have an agenda and should admit it.

Losing late worked against Miami and put Bama in, but OSU losing late (to an unranked team at home, no less) didn’t matter when it came time to decide who was hosting between us and OSU. And it just so happens, OSU fell less this weekend after unranked loss at home than Miami did losing to Syracuse on the road.

OSU getting the benefit of a top 10 win with Indiana is so frustrating and the fact that it was used as part of the justification for OSU over us is garbage.

Dinich posted an article on the Disney Corp site called ESPN Saturday night telling what the committee was going to do (put Bama in, keep us from hosting). The committee made a big deal earlier of saying they do days of film review and questioning each other, etc. But they had made these decisions before even loading their game film. It’s a farce.
I stated the same thing 3 weeks ago that Dinich knows more than others realized.

Notre Dame doesn't play eight 0-12 teams on their schedule. If they did they wouldn't make the playoffs either. Remember I was entertaining a hypothetical from someone who said he wished every other team in the SEC went winless. My argument was if the rest of our competition is trash then our wins wouldn't be respected and we would never make the playoffs.
Army also didn't play eight 0-12 teams but you used them as an example of not being respected despite their record because their competition is trash.

Look, I agree with you, but there IS an exception to that rule: Notre Dame. Who plays a largely uncompetitive schedule, lost to a bad G5 team, yet they're #4 today.

Happy Wednesday. This is a message that took me a while to understand. Hopefully it finds whoever needs it most today.

December 4, 2024: Refuse to allow shame and regret to continue to haunt you. You have repented and changed the course of your life. It is the purpose of the enemy to torment you, but you are redeemed and forgiven by the precious blood of Christ. It is truly time to move on. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

I miss the old days of signing day. Waking up like it’s Christmas, hoping to wake up to some surprises.

As much as I hated Butch, I loved that signing day show.
Seeing "the fax machine" standing guard in foreground, while coaches milled about. One stationary camera, probably an interns computer camera.

The 1st Rd are essentially “play-in” games. The playoff doesn’t start without the conference champions. I think they need to do away with the 1st Rd bye and also have the outcome of the conference championship game actually mean something in terms of ranking/seeding (for both winners/losers). To say there’s gonna be no movement from yesterday’s rankings is the most idiotic concept.

The 1st Rd is like the 16v16 in March Madness.

I kinda like how the FCS does it. Somehow it's worked well for them and seemingly isn't placing obscenely heavy burdens on their student athletes.
