Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Sankey should be on the hot seat for this
He succeeded proudly. He covered up the one-sided officiating in two of GA's last three games. Reportedly extracted a promise not to drop GA if they lose in Atlanta. He got underdeserving Bama into the playoff with 3 losses, the third a real doozy. He got Bama an easier playoff track than us. And he succeeding in not fighting for us to host a game. He got us the worst draw in the playoff. Sankey sankeyed.

This bs needs to be fixed all teams not playing on a even playing field, osu, bama and Georgia get special treatment.. anyone else 9-3 wouldn’t be in the playoffs and if we lost at home as a 21 point favorite they would take us out to the playoffs entirely.. make it make sense enough people need to point this **** out specially sec talking heads about osu above Tennessee!
SEC talking heads and the national media spent all their time campaigning for Bama. Every article about the playoffs I saw Saturday featured a lede photo of Bama. And every day since.

They're gonna win their first two games to make the semis and this will end up looking like a normal Saban season for them, even though it wasn't.
Yep. Backroom corruption saved Bama from facing a big recruiting problem and nuked a real advantage for us.

No, not Arkansas. Regional and personal bias. If the final rankings resemble this week, that will be the only reason. Nothing objective about it. That the SEC brass agreed to this committee is an indictment to their decision making.
So is the officiating. And by "decision making" I mean intentions.

Lol not even all 13 members bothered showing up to discuss and vote. Can we please give the job back to the computers?

Dinich posted an article on the Disney Corp site called ESPN Saturday night telling what the committee was going to do (put Bama in, keep us from hosting). The committee made a big deal earlier of saying they do days of film review and questioning each other, etc. But they had made these decisions before even loading their game film. It’s a farce.

Here’s a viewpoint I haven’t seen discussed, or at least noticed.

If UGA loses, do they fall all the way out? A 3rd loss after the showing they had against Tech. That gives us a 3 loss UGA and a 3 loss Bama, and Bama has the H2H. A UGA loss and Clemson win makes it interesting.

At the same time, if Texas loses, the committee has to make a decision where to seed them. They could make it to where we see UGA vs Texas 3 times in one season.

Chaos season

How long does the Michigan AD remain the head of the committee? Hope his tenure ends soon. I'd like to nominate DW as the next committee chair.
I don't know. I think he should be in jail. He's apparently a conspirator in an interstate computer hacking crime ring.

The D-line hasn’t caught a fair break with the whistle all season. Pearce and the rest of the crew might as well become pro wrestlers with all the clotheslines they’ve gotten used to.
Two years in a row. The holding double-standard changed a lot of our games and got Bama to the playoffs last year.

I will say that we are universally under the radar in football for some reason. Josh Pate is now power rating South Carolina ahead of us. Our defense and run game get zero credit all because we don’t have explosive pass game.
wtf. Pâté has gone soft in the head and hard into recruiting fan bases.

It's a truly asinine system. Your fellow PH D crowd invented it.

😂 It was a bribe in exchange for the votes of the non P4 schools. Also the championship games are huge money, so they wanted to keep them. But they’re incompatible with rational seeding. So they are going to play them but not count them. 😂

UGA can drop below us. Penn state can drop below us. Texas can drop below us.
The committee will do whatever they want. They have said they won't drop teams and also hinted that they might drop teams, but not much. I'm not even going to watch the games. You saw what they did for Bama right? (And against us.) The only way to square that circle was #88,751.

This is why I don't fret over this situation, the committee will do exactly what they want whether any fan base likes it or not.

A 1-loss Miami would easily be in, same as those 2.

PSU has Illinois. Correct on IU...awful schedule. Miami just topped them by losing a 2nd game 😆
Illinois has been, by turns, in the 20s, falling off the chart, and popping back in near the bottom rung again. Next door neighbor to Memphis.

Miami was replaced by a 3-loss team that could only score 3 points against the Okies on the way to a stomping.

PSU might be super ugly. But I still think it'll count as a 3rd loss, though not the same as bamas 3rd loss.
But they’d still be Big 10 2nd place finisher. Why would you move 2nd place finisher in the conference below the third place finisher? Y’all’s line of thinking is to punish a team for making it to their conference championship game. The two teams playing in each conference championship game are the first and second place finishers for their conference. So, even if you lose the conference championship game, you should NOT be ranked below the third place finisher.

Why is this hard to understand? Losing the conference championship game still means you finished second
