Recruiting Football Talk VIII

If Clemson beats SMU, they've got to punt Alabama out and keep SMU in. We're going to have to pull for Clemson to get a close win. As Vols, the most fun scenario for us to witness is Alabama being put back in to the playoffs only to get booted right back out. It would be glorious.
It's good to dream.

When was the last time we had a signing day like yesterday? Losing Hayward is a bummer; but, we flipped Merritt and we flipped Perlotte (I would love to see him get some run at safety) to replace him.

We also got the Rodney Garner staple, a top 5 DT/top 40 overall, who was committed to Clemson for awhile.

And, to top it all off, we fight off Ohio St for David Sanders.

Blue Chip Ratio

2021: 31%
2022: 43%
2023: 46%
2024: 57%
2025: 62%

Throw in the portal, the development, and the staff's attention to positional value (elite QB and pass rushing), and we're well on our way to a championship-caliber roster.
THANK YOU.

You put it in very direct terms what I've been trying to push on here the last 12 months. we are just getting started.

The big time talent across the board is just now on it way...and yet look what we've already accomplished...

More NFL coaches will start coming to the NCAA since it's a better product and a growing market 👀
I'd say it (appears) to be more work.

They'd be foolish if they don't get the implications of 24/7/365 recruiting.

And with the free(ish) market starting to seep into college, the downward pressure on admin and coaches salaries to pay for the value-producers...the players...will be considerable. Not saying we'll see a downward slide, too many power players imo. But I could see stabilizing pressures solidifying, unlike in the NFL where growth will continue well above the general job market/inflation.

Let's sum this up:
Football team in CFP ranked in Top 10
Basketball team about to be #1 in Nation
Baseball defending National Champs and LOADED
Softball a contender
WBB making a big improvement
Non-revenue Sports all thriving for the most part.
Just wrapped up a Stud recruiting class.
A non-drinker drinking a 6-pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon to pass multiple kidney stones (it's worked before)
Yall kiss my sunshine pumping a$$.

PSU is #4 in total defense nationally. We are #5.
We take on more plays, we are 1 spot ahead by YPP.

Also 1 spot ahead by PPG allowed.

Basically tied. Our SOS is 28th, theirs is 38th. A slight edge possibly, would have to really look at offenses faced.

Let's just say it's very good, like ours. But I'll take ours more seasoned.
