you nailed itI feel like the 1 at round byes are pretty simple: Oregon, UGA, BSU, AZ st.
And I feel like the last 3 spots are pretty simple:
Ind
Smu
Clemson
In between... Lots of discussing needed, if the floor is open for discussion. Personally, I don't think they move a lot around if they stick to what Ward said last week. They have to drop SMU, tx and psu. I don't think you keep ND at 5. And nobody else played. So I see it like this:
Tx
Psu
ND
Osu
TN
This is like if the NFL Playoffs were subjective. They'd put the Cowboys in every year if given the chance. It’s still hard for me to fathom that the Committee just basically ignored Notre Dame’s historic loss to NII. I know that in a 12-team field, losses like that will be forgiven more often, but it really shouldn’t be.
If you lose on your home field to a bottom feeder from the MAC where you were favorited by 35-40, you shouldn’t get a mulligan.
Indiana 40 ppgNow list the teams they held to those point totals:
Northwestern
Purdue
Nebraska
Iowa
Marshall
WMU
Akron
Mich St
Penn St
Michigan
The only one that would have had a chance to score more than 17 to us on that list is Penn St.
Not exactly a murderers row of offenses.
I think Oregon is beatable. Neutral site, their defense isn't great. More worried about OSU on the road to be honest. If Tennessee is to win a title, they’ve got to get this night game monkey off their back and beat Georgia. That’s actually all in front of them in this bracket. Can’t wait to see them try.
Listen I don’t think they have a bad defense but when you are touting Iowa’s ppg in defense of how low they held them down you are on the wrong side of the argument. They aren’t better than any other defense we have already faced this year. My point was our defense which is statistically the same as theirs would have had the same results against that weak schedule.Indiana 40 ppg
Penn St 33 ppg
Iowa 27 ppg
Held them to 15, 13, 7 points respectively. Their defense is not bad. Anyone thinking a road Tennessee team will score a ton of points on them is hoping for the unlikely.
