Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Interesting.

"First off, I'll say watching film, picking up cues on when they're going to do it (stunts/twists)," said Georgia offensive lineman Tate Ratledge when asked about blocking the UT defensive line. "What are they doing when this foot is back every time? I remember actually against them two years ago, when we played them here (Athens), one of their defensive ends, every time he had his outside foot back, they were teeing. So, picking up on stuff like that. And kind of just throughout the game, noticing stuff."
The tell was that Kirby told his o-line to hold their azzes off on every play. The other tell was SEC officials were told not to call any of it, in fact call it on the defense. That was the only telling going on.

I don't think Georgia will beat ND, the back-up QB ain't gonna be Stetson Bennett. We will play the winner of PSU and ND.
Beck will play, He would not have been on the sideline in pads in the second half if it was serious and certainly would not have taken a snap. Kirby will play it for two weeks, but he will play.

Been kinda funny seeing Michigan fans chime in on our playoff game vs Ohio State. I respect the hatred, but for being such an "important" rivalry, I just could not care any less about either of those teams or what happens in Ann Arbor or Columbus when they face each other (unless it impacts our post-season). They might as well be the same school to me.

Professional athletes are not paid by what they deserve or what seems fair, they are paid according to what they are worth in terms of butts in the seats and eyeballs on the screen. The ultimately market aka the fans decide what a player is worth. If teams were not making money and fans are unwilling to pay then they they would be paid less.
The laws of economics are inviolate and will rule. Many have and are trying to artificially control the free market and all have or will fail. The communists failed several times, the Fed is failing now.
In the en the market wins and people are paid fairly, fair market value.
There can never be fairness of outcomes only fairness of opportunities
The free market should absolutely be left alone to govern salaries, but the players won't stand for that. They want to collectively bargain for insulation from failure and guaranteed money. Same thing with coaches and their ridiculous buyouts. Price fixing is not the only manipulation of the free market in professional sports. It's everywhere. The only stakeholder not currently insulated from some effects of the free market is the initial ticket purchaser. They bear the brunt of all the guaranteed BS built into the contracts, but as long as we're stupid enough to pay it, then we're getting what we deserve.

All these Yankees blend together.

A buddy of mine who is a Michigan alum texted me and said “please beat Ohio State”…I told him they are getting our absolute best shot!! 🙌

Sounds like Beck is done. I think Kirby listened to Josh Pate before the SECCG. In his weekly show last week JP suggested that if any key player gets hurt you better get him off the field fast and leave him on the sideline to avoid any appearance of a significant injury. He didn’t condone that action but based on how FSU was handled last year that’s what team’s would have to do with key injuries to ensure the committee doesn’t penalize them. Sad but probably true.

That Billy Mays imposter couldn’t win it all with CJ Stroud and Zeke Elliott. We got this

*just practicing my Buckeye hate
It wasn’t Zeke on that team. It was even more stacked though. Chris Olave, Garret Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njiggba, Marvin Harrison Jr were all on the team with Stroud. Yeah Ryan Day is trash af lol. Zeke was on the team with Cardale Jones that beat bama and Oregon in the first playoff under Meyer.

The problem is the automatic bids for conference champions. If they would just attempt to do what the originally stated goal of the playoffs was then it would be fine. Pick the twelve best teams. No DEI bids. I and if you're going to have a committee have people who represent the relevant parties in major college football, not a soccer chic or the coach of a middle school in South Dakota. I don't really have a problem with Jabba the Warde but why not other conferences? Put DW on there, HOF coaches, heck even Gary Stinky Pinkie is better than most of them.
It’s definitely not perfect. Humans tend to muddle things. 😏
