Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Funny how the Beck injury news drops the day after the teams are seeded lol
In this weird messed up format, Georgia would be seeded exactly the same with or without Carson Beck.

Forget one player. Their entire 2nd string would still be seeded higher than ASU and Boise State.

Yeah, and Im sure the coach that's been coaching D-Line in this conference for 50 years just forgot to cosch his guys about that. Oops!

Tate Ratledge can **** off somewhere.

Picking up on tells like this happen at the highest level of competition across all sports. Merely having a coach that has coached for a long time doesn't make a team or its players immune to subconsciously giving off tells.

We ought to be grateful that Tate's ego baited him into revealing our tells before a playoff game publicly (giving up time to correct them) versus secretly telling our competition or even staying mum about them and possibly letting OSU pickup on them and exploit them in the playoff game.

I love RG as much as anyone, but we did have one player line up offsides three separate times in that game. We are dealing with 18-22 year old kids at the end of the day.

Just curious. Does anyone know what ND’s quality win is supposed to be? I don’t see any ranked teams on their schedule. We know losing to NIU at home is far worse thane losing to Arky on the road. It may be the loss of the year. They would need at least one quality win to be in the top 10, no? I never realized ND only played 3 road games.
C'mon man, it's Notre Dame! Everyone knows they're elite!

So, the Central Michigan head coaching job is open. Does anyone think that we lose Banks to them? He played college football there And was the DC for them for 3 seasons. Plus he's from Detroit.
I would think with another year like this one under his belt he would be in line for some solid P4 jobs. I think he can and should do better.

Army is ranked, so they do have 1 ranked win. A&M and Louisville were ranked at various times and are decent teams.

Their schedule was definitely a joke this year though. But to their credit, it looked better before the season started. Florida St, Louisville, A&M, and USC were all ranked coming into the season.

YESSSS. The past 20 years in this conference have been amazing. I love having a rival within 45 minutes of our conference headquarters, have "legitimately" signed top 3 recruiting classes annually, and the my absolute favorite part...... have multiple alumni referees, across all sports. Totally worth it.

Exactly. All the sweeter whenever we beat their ass.

Head to head with Bama, the Third Satuday in October, our most bitter of rivals...for almost 100 years it made us a Top 8 program in the history of college football. WE are the main rivals of the most successful program in history, and they are ours. No one has beaten them more times, no one has beaten us more times.

Losing focus of this, with the Florida's and the Georgia's...it got us 20 years of suck.

You are right, though...beating them is always a mountain to climb; but, it always puts us in very good shape whenever we do (be it the season itself, or overall health of our program). Beating them in 22 put us in the playoff...we didn't get in because we lost to SCarolina. Beating them this year put us in.

I agree with all you said...still want to play them every year.
