Recruiting Football Talk VIII

There is already an insane amount of talent in the portal/have announced they are entering the portal... No telling what happens by the end of the season... Absolutely NO excuse that we cannot pick up serious talent in positions of need this offseason...
I am pretty pleased with what Huepel has been able to do in the portal so far.

Jallen said we aren’t really active right now.

Just that Northwestern OL.

Then AP said not to expect a safety because of who we have already.

I was just informing him.

I didn’t say anything about the team. I agree somewhat, depends on the kid though.

McCoy wanted money and came here, better than anything currently had.
I get it--- thanks--- we are concentrating and preparing for our game, but there's no excuse to not pick up what we need and more when the time comes. I just hope we don't let everyone get scooped up... Definitely need at least 2 elite Oline, 1 Dline, a LB with experience, 1 elite WR, and someone in the secondary.

we've had some issues with Olinemen we picked up over the past two years, WR's getting dropsys, so there's definitely room for improvement. Chemistry with the existing roster is key though as we've seen, so finding elite talent that will gel with the existing roster is going to be tricky, but hopefully doable.

This is the type of talent I am talking about going all in on if the character and chemistry is there. We are in the playoffs and on the rise, no reason we shouldn't have our pick or be able to push hard for these types of kids.

Don’t think we’re targeting a T so that would be a pretty good reason we wouldn’t push hard for these types of kids.

I like that we have a top 10 recruiting class coming in but I'm not so encouraged
that we were "out-recruited" by 6 SEC teams.

Not much difference in the top 10, even more so in the Top 6. That’s the sweet spot, if you’re top 6, it’s basically 1a/1b/1c/1d/1e/1f.

So we’re like cusp of that upper tier.

Hey...you said it, I didn't.

OSU does not suck...they are crammed full of NFL talent all over the field..especially on defense.

Our hopes are pinned on Day doing something dumb and their OL falling completely apart against our front 7.

If those two things happen and our offense finally gets executed at a high level...them having a great defense, probably better than ours when you break it down player by player, makes our offense doing that for the first time on the road an unlikely prospect...but if that near miracle actually happens...

We could win.

Their is nothing wrong with being realistic, and the real truth is...this is a really tough row to hoe.
I BELIEVE!!

I've decided you are the new idiot margin. And to think, I voted for you, Tits.

Portal pickups on the defensive side have by and large been great. Pili, McCoy, and a number of D-linemen have been huge additions.

Offensive have been solid.

Doubt we pursue a LT. That's what we're paying Heard to be. With luck, Bennett Warren or Brian Grant will be our RT, with the other being a capable backup at both OT positions. Hopefully Satterwhite will be ready at center. Guard is where we need help. If we pursue an OT, that says we don't think Warren or Grant are ready.
