Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Holy Chit

I hope this doesnt happen...because it means UNC will likely start landing some of the best players in NC which we currently OWN as a state.

That said...UNC should do it honestly. Clemson is not what they used to be and on a downward trajectory...Miami, Clemson, and FSU are the only threats to spend the $20MM plus a year to have playoff teams. UNC could absolutely insert themselves into that mix, but it will take hundreds of millions of dollars because their football facilities are not on par with the UT, Bama, UGAs of the world either. Nor is their stadium, or football fanbase. I have lived in Charlotte for 35 years sadly and married into a Tarheel family. They are a basketball school first and foremost. Most of the ACC is the same...despite the fact that the SEC just destroyed them 14 games to 2 in a 16 game matchup. UNC has a long way to go to have a program and facilities on par with us at UT...between the 400 page demands of B.B. and the necessary upgrades to their facilities and stadium, I bet they are looking at half a Billion dollars in investment. $500MM or more over 5 years? Lets see if the Heels are willing to spend that much to try and improve their station in football. I doubt it honestly.

WOW, Read where Belichick gave his list of demands and waiting on UNC to agree to them.
And they are true demands, he is not willing to negotiate.

I don’t know, seems like a big gamble to me. He wasn’t very impressive post Tom Brady, he is wearing Taylor Swift hoodies, posting pictures on instagram, tooling around with a 24 year old GF….this has a disaster feel to it for UNC.

It’s also one of the most difficult positions to anticipate success. People that size develop at such different rates it’s hard to predict how they will be at 20-22 years old. We are evaluating them when they are 16-18 years old. Very difficult.
Oline positions are the hardest to project and develop. Not only do they have grow physically develop technique, but the amount of knowledge required is immense. Most people do not realize what all goes into making a good offensive lineman.

I’m not doubting that is what you read, but if that’s really the case why haven’t we heard anything from the TN administration about getting more tickets?

What about Danny White, Donde Plowman or Randy Boyd makes you think they wouldn’t raise hell if this fan base was being treated THAT unfairly?

Thanks for looking it up and nothing personal against you or what you read, but that doesn’t pass the smell test IMO
The 3500 was set by the CFP guidelines. Nothing to do with our university. It’s the amount of allotted visitor tickets for every home playoff game. It’s not OSU setting that amount.

It’s one thing to have a separate recruiting staff but at the end of the day he is still going to have to meet and talk to some of these kids and families either on official visits or what.

Well Dallas is having a horrible season this year, what you expect them to look like individuals getting ready for a Pizza Party?
It's been a recurring theme lately though. So are the other franchises you dismissed. And some of those franchises have been much more successful recently.
