Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Just back from a 90 day pull in Ukraine. Outside Sanders commitment today, what have I missed?

I heard TN won the CWS in Baseball. Let me fact check that though. Also about 15 4 star commitments and the number 1 overall player in 2026 who just happens to be a QB. GBMFO.

I didn't have a choice but to go with the Florida strain, only 3 places within 2 hours of me to get them and they all had the same fish. Owen and Williams is where I ended up getting them from and they've been doing it since the early 80s, so I felt pretty good about using them. That's pretty interesting though, I figured a bass was a bass and some just grow bigger than others according to where they were, southern grow bigger faster and northern grow smaller and slower. Shows how little I know.
How many pounds do they want you to take out every year?

I used to feel the same as you about Candy. I used to read about Coach Cafegos burning pure hatred of them and could not understand..until the mid 2000s-2010s, especially the Franklin years...NOW I get it.

Vandy is a special kind of pond scum eating bacteria...I straight up hate them, and I want to destroy them 100-0 without mercy in every sport, in every season until time itself ends.
This is the way

Did you put any shad in with your bass?
I did not, and I'm not going to put crappie in there either. Just going to be bass, bluegill, shellcracker, and redbreast. I know the shad would be an awesome food source, but nobody does a load smaller than 3000 down here and I didnt want to drop a grand on shad.

15 to 25 bass a year starting in year 2.
Sounds like you have good management advIce. My cousin has a 40 acre pond in northern GA and he finally had to pus shad in to continue their growth. They plateaued after about 5 years. They have take off again. They are pulling 10lber’s out of there now.

Another thing you have to watch out for are poachers. He has trail cameras up everywhere.

Congrats….I am envious.
