@Jackcrevol excuses himself for some "private time".It's got to be better than undilutedView attachment 668109
I do worry about that, once they get the bream population under control, will they have enough to eat. Right now they are fat as can be but they have been eating tadpoles and have had an all you can eat buffet. We have a gazillion frogs that are so loud at night and a month ago the tadpoles were everywhere, not anymore. If I'm still stuck down here in 7or 8 years Ill probably have to do something like thread fin shad. Man 40 acres would be awesome minus the up keep. I love to fish but this pond is more for my son than me, we go to Allison lake down here and catch nothing but 3 to 7 pounders pretty regularly. I want him to be able to fish when I can't take him too, I would have loved that when I was a kid. I was obsessed with it when I was his age.Sounds like you have good management advIce. My cousin has a 40 acre pond in northern GA and he finally had to pus shad in to continue their growth. They plateaued after about 5 years. They have take off again. They are pulling 10lber’s out of there now.
Another thing you have to watch out for are poachers. He has trail cameras up everywhere.
Congrats….I am envious.
Winning the wife lottery is the best thing in life. I'm grateful every day.I do worry about that, once they get the bream population under control, will they have enough to eat. Poachers won't bother us I don't think, my pond is right behind the house probably not even 60 yards from the house.......but I have salt blocks around it with trail cams cause my wife loves to watch deer and look at trail cams. I tell you, I hit the wife lottery, she is from here and is a huge lady vol fan, loves Pat Summit........so glad she settled for me.

I've never been to either one, and feel like I'm missing out. I think we'll visit Savannah for a long weekend in a year or two. BIL was raving about the restaurants there the other night and he eats in New Orleans alot like we do, so we were all ears. I've been to Sea Island.I love Charleston too, but I live it's "uglier step-sister" Savannah more. Both are great, but I just prefer Savannah.
Yup….you definitely found “a keeper”. Also, no better to raise a kid than with a fishing rod in their hands.I do worry about that, once they get the bream population under control, will they have enough to eat. Savannah reminds me of a little New Orleans in terms of the food and the vibe. I think you'd really enjoy it.I've never been to either one, and feel like I'm missing out. Never stayed in Savannah and I live down here but I did honeymoon at Kiawah Island and Charleston was pretty cool. Lot of history and folly beach was great, awesome food.I've never been to either one, and feel like I'm missing out. I think we'll visit Savannah for a long weekend in a year or two. Oh I agree, he loves to hunt too, but fishing has always been numero uno.Yup….you definitely found “a keeper”. Also, no better to raise a kid than with a fishing rod in their hands.
Final question…..is your pond spring fed?
I was about to mention poachers, . His pond is just big enough where some jerks will find it on google maps and sneak out there.Sounds like you have good management advIce.
