Recruiting Football Talk VIII

And for THE THIRD...STRAIGHT....YEAR...it will once again be said...

Hey we allowed fewer points than last year (again)

And people once again want to let him go šŸ˜…šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Boy they'll be real happy when we grab up a new DC and go back to allowing 30/game.

We LITERALLY made the playoffs this year because of our defense. We don't beat UF, Bama, OU?, etc without them.
are you talking to me, or everyone else?
If that's the OSU that shows up three rest of the way... That's the team that wins this thing.
and we knew when that giant BG10 penis ensured we played their best team, in their house, it would be a tall order.

I think Spyre might be good but they canā€™t do anything if they donā€™t have more money
I just wish we could see what/who they were spending it on
I think the program could do more to promote Spyre in an official capacity - especially when it comes to more casual fans. I think there is still a huge portion of the fanbase that have no clue who they are or what they do.

Heupel and the team needed this. Going on the road to UGA and Ohio State, they know what it takes now.

I can see the pieces coming together, but it has to be across the board. Thatā€™s players and coaches.
You will know if he got the message loud and clear in the next couple of days.

We must see staff changes and heavy involvement in the portal. If you donā€™t see those things, we should start being concerned.

Wayyyy too early for the Huepel is Richt talk IMO. He has done a fantastic job getting us where we are from where we were. However, it is about put up or shut up time. Does he have what it takes to make the tough, but necessary decisions about upgrading the coaching staff and roster that itā€™s gonna take to bust through the ceiling? I guess weā€™ll see. The window will only be open for so long.

My only commentary on game - Nico played good. We had no skill players ready and we needed Sanders to suit up last night. Most glaring deficit was LB. IMO.

Speed kills and we looked slow.
Lb and S are absolutely putrid.

Itā€™s not just speed to me either, 7 is extremely overrated by our fan base. His instincts and positional awareness are very poor when the other team has movement and uses the middle of the field. 22 plays hard but like 35 he has physical limitations.

I think Spillman has the highest ceiling of any LB on the current roster. Need to get some turnkey athletes to plug at safety or we will be in same position. There is a reason 2 couldnā€™t get on the field at Ohio state.

That 1st quarter is gonna give me nightmares, šŸ˜‚. 21-17 after that. I don't think we had the talent to win, regardless, but it should've been a much closer game.

It seems like there is a feeling of urgency missing that the program had in '21 & '22. They were going balls to the wall to win games. We need that urgency back. I don't care so much if we lose games like this as long as we're fighting and throwing haymakers. We threw 1 deep 50/50 ball last night, late in the game.

Bring back the urgency and the killer mentality.

Things look completely different today if we faced Indiana , SMU, or Clemson in Neyland. I have no doubt we beat those teams at home.

And who knows how we perform against Ohio State on a neutral field. We still lose IMO, but itā€™s likely more competitive.

We caught UGA and Ohio State at the worst possible time this year.

That and why they leave. Is it because they got better offers and we couldn't match? Is it because they didn't like the program? Is it because they want more playing time? Is it because they lack confidence in their coaches/the program? I'm sure we'll never know why on some of them.
Would be interesting if plove23 could provide some insight on Cam entering the portal (playing time, position change, coach, etc) just my $.02.

If OSU plays like that from here on out, I don't think there is anyone that can stay in a game with them. We aren't a bad team and we don't have bad Corches, but they made it look like it.

BTW all 4 outcomes of the 1St round of playoffs just proved all these games should be played on a neutral field..
It just proved all 4 home teams were much better.
NBA, MLB , NFL donā€™t play playoff games on neutral fields. They play at the home of the team that earn it.

Problem is with auto bids and seeding.
Texas and Ohio st should of had byes.

Boise st and Arizona st shouldnā€™t.
First round games would of been more competitive

I'll see you fellers down the road. šŸ™‹ā€ā™‚ļø

I am not going to be able to handle the cancerous toxicity, venomous vitriol, and pure corrosive stupidity that I know is going to fill this place for a long time.

Before I go...I'm going to say this to all those good ol Vols in understandable hurt and despair, and also to the loud mouthed, totally imbecilic Idiot Margin that want to tear apart Josh Heupel and his staff, and everything that Josh Heupel and his staff have near miraculously accomplished in far faster time than anybody with a functioning brain thought possible..

On Jan 2 1998 we had just gotten completely embarrassed 42-17 by a loaded Nebraska team that had been rolling through CFB like a combine through a field of corn for years and years.

All of us have forgotten how we felt at the moment..but deep in the night I remembered...it came back to me.

We were losing our all-everything QB, we all thought our defense had been exposed as a total soft fraud, and we were losing a few important pieces off of that defense including our all-everything 1st round draft pick defensive end.

Nobody talks about this much since then...but the future did not look bright, we all thought we had blown our shot...that we were frauds..and so did the country...but..

Twelve months and two days later...on January the 4th 1998 we stood on the top of CFB as undefeated National Champions.

We know we have a long way to go...but tearing everything apart and going nuclear toxic is completely stupid.

See y'all later...UEM out šŸ™‹ā€ā™‚ļø

The choice isnā€™t between Heupel and Super Coach that brings us all the titles.

Itā€™s between Heupel and the unknown, which Iā€™m going to guess looks much more like Auburn or the Vols of the 2010s.

Letā€™s back Heupel and give him 7+ more years to figure this out. I think this will all be more fun that way!

Iā€™ll be surprised if this happens. Weā€™re seeing ā€œLoyal to a faultā€ play out in front of our eyes.
