Yeah, we're not swimming in the same pond with the big guys. Don't see that changing. I don't think Spyre is everything we've been told it is. I don't see anything changing either. I think our ceiling is going to always be a fringe playoff team. Wealthy programs will always rise to the top. Alabama is in a similar place as we are. I think you'll see, OSU, OR, TEXAS, ND at the top. They've got limitless money.
JMO ,but I dont see where the NIL is doing anything for Tn. Before NIL Tn was recruiting between 10-15 and as it stands now we are still recruiting between 10-12. So I dont see any benefit from Spyre. If its so good then where are the recruits? Getting 1 5* a year is not going to cut it. Transfer portal is the same, most schools are going after very good players but Tn is going to smaller schools. Makes no sense.

Lol that you think we could maintain that same level of recruiting in this new world without Spyre.

NIL also keeps your current players. Maybe even ones that would normally go pro. We will take care of players that excel.

But there is also a base line. Everyone has to have a minimum just to recruit in the top 12.

What’s NIL doing for Bama? They are worse.

I want to give ol' Herbie Herbstreit a hats off.

I didn't listen to the announcers post game, so I hope Herbie didn't cancel what I'm about to say. But I thought Herbie during the game did a great job of resisting Fowler and the replay "analyst" throwing him "alley oops" to snark on the Vols. He did a great job of staying even-handed in a game where it was tempting not to bother. I was glad to see that.

Kip Johnson as F definitely F'd us again. The Ohio State defenders made contact before the ball arrived all night long without one call. Finally, they called it once late: against "Mod" McCoy, who did what Ohio had done all night. Really DPI when merited was our best hope.
The scouting report is out. Refs call against TN. Muschump started it. Disrespect to our talent, but accurate of reality. We cant play around an 'unfair' whistle. Hence why the disparity of home vs away.

Right. The refs were the problem. Some of you guys are so predicable. Hell, many of you start complaining about the refs days before the games are even played.

Bama also has a new coach so who is to say why they are leaving? I thought Tn had one of the best NILs out there and that would make our NIL better than Bamas right?
I get the take care of players that excels but are they picking the right players to take care of? I hope its not on our OL because Mays is the only one worth taking care of.

Well, last night’s game sucked. Ohio State had two options after being embarrassed at home by Michigan. They could roll over and play dead or bow up and play their best game of the season. They chose option 2. Not a fan of OSU in any way shape or form.

They should not have been able to host after losing to an unranked team at home. The combination of the home field advantage and the cold Ohio night was a definite factor. This game would have been different in Knoxville.

Our coaching/training/medical/equipment staff didn’t help our team. I am very disappointed in this situation. The OSU staff put big coats on the skill players every chance they got. It’s a simple way to retain body heat and reduce energy expenditure and reduce injury rates. Warm bodies don’t get injured as easily. It seemed like every body involved on the Tennessee side was trying to prove how tough they were and could ignore the cold rather than acknowledging how cold affects the athletes and taking appropriate precautions and measures to prevent the issues.

OSU had a great game plan for Tennessee. The OSU players executed it almost to perfection. I’m embarrassed to say that the Tennessee coaches were not prepared. It was obvious.

I had flashbacks to the’97 championship game against Nebraska where Tennessee was absolutely embarrassed. They took it as a challenge rather than a failure. I really hope the current Tennessee team and coaches do the same. In 1998 it meant a national championship. Maybe it will happen again.

I will not hang my head. Even after a miserable loss, the next day and every day that I draw breath, it means more to be a Tennessee Volunteer than anything else. Being a Tennessee Volunteer is more than just being a fan. Being a Tennessee Volunteer is a way of life. Being a Tennessee Volunteer means being a better person and contributing to the improvement of the world.

Side note, not comparing this to religion, marriage, or parenthood, but being a religious spouse and parent who is a Tennessee Volunteer is that much better for all involved.

As always:

Go Vols! 🤠

It's humorous to see a poster that is throwing a tantrum like a two-year old say that other posters are soft as hell. We got destroyed in a football game. Life goes on. You need to grow up.

Our OL. Coop is worth his money. Not sure anyone else is. Heard may have been a freshman AA at LSU, but it feels like he's been doggin' it here. Karic is average at best. I feel like Spraggins and Campbell have regressed, not improved. Some will probably disagree (Marco), but I feel like Elarbee is a liability.

Saban discount isn't a thing anymore, so, Bama, welcome to the real world!
