Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I think most of that is Tony V being the best and most popular coach in the country who consistently puts guys in the league. Tough ask for Heupel.
I am very appreciative of what CJH has done. However it is very apparent that their recruiting, player evaluations, positioning coaches and schemes/play calling are lacking in certain areas. There is not an aspect of his program that is being managed better than Tony V and Rick.

CJH doesn’t have to try and be someone he is not. Tony V and Rick have polar opposite personalities but both are highly successful. There is more than one way to do it.

The competing complaints of “too negative” and “only sunshine pumpers allowed” seem pretty balanced right now, on the whole. Good sign, IYAM.

Obviously, the negative is going to outweigh the positive the week following a bad loss.

We have small contingents of LOMS and Pumpers on each end of our base, but the large but way too often silent MIDDLE has to wade through and be associated with the crap posts. On top of that count the number of times pumpers are MERELY replying to NEGA initiated threads not leading with overly hopeful positions or status.

There is NO EQUIVALENCY right now. Can’t even fake it. The majority of the challenges to the overboard crap are not by pumpers, but from the middle.

Being an objective but HOPEFUL fan does not make one a pumper. Way too much unknown to get judgmental either way. Especially with the portal impacts.

Within the week, your post will be offset by a similar post bemoaning how you can’t state “facts” on here anymore without being jumped on for being too negative.

Sunrise, sunset.

Yes, parents hold the highest standard but all leaders and authority figures are and should be accountable. So a teacher should just teach and wash their hands of how a child is brought up/performs in the classroom? Absolutely the schools, etc. play a role in raising the next generation and should

Who the hell is this guy?

Vol Twitter has zero sources. They take free info from here, Volquest, and Facebook and tweet it. You can make money from clicks on Twitter/X. Almost everything is rage bait or fear bait. Twitter is good for galvanize for the fanbase. It has zero value for insider info

Most everybody on here acknowledged Heup did not run uptempo and use motion and jets as he had in the past this past season. Those things have to happen in this O scheme for it to be as successful as it needs to be to win big games. Most know the O-line had stamina and competency issues to go with inexperience at QB. That probably explains why he chose to do what he did. He rode the defense for as long as he could and it worked to get into the playoffs. But for the life of me I have no idea why that would exclude using the middle of the field in the pass game.

To get to the next level all of that has to change. Otherwise we will be having these discussions after every season.

Ive researched the **** out of the cartels since Narcos, snd subsequent shows, articles, and regional stories.

One thing is for sure. In terms of supply chain economics, Cartels are unmatched. They have trafficking, laundering, and operations down to an exact science. An organization that commands an industry from Austrailia to Canada, with profits potentially higher than Mexican Gov't.

i'd say Texas Tech would win all the games. TTU's HBC would live in an underground mansion in Texas Hills with multiple egresses. Have lions, bears, and hippos in backyard, with live action amusement park for kids.
Cartels are following the Italian and Russian mob direction of creating MultiNational Corporations and mixing the books so well it's hard to differentiate.

SIAP. Not really but it is the appropriate start. 😎

Would you rather have the Volunteers make the playoffs and get their arses whooped by ohio state?

Or miss the playoffs and play Miami in the Pop Tarts bowl?

Or play BYU in the Alamo bowl.

In each scenario, the opponent is a 10-2 team.

In retrospect, I prefer the actual scenario versus even winning one of those bowl games.

What are the deals for the baseball players who portal in? And you have to compare that to what other baseball programs are paying for players to transfer. We are close to being the number 1 NIL team in baseball, along with LSU.

Football right now is right where baseball was when we lost to ND in the super we hosted. People are overreacting. But the story is not over in football either. The difference is it's a lot more affordable to own the portal in baseball. The 11 scholarship rule was the result of Title IX. Another difference is that most of who would be the big money players go straight to pro baseball, so there is not a big NIL fight over those guys. And I am a huge Vols Baseball and Basketball fan, as you know.

Football brings in the money. That's a primary reason football NIL is so high. Everyone rides the football train. Including Kim.
Of course football pays the bills and the NIL allotment is proportional to the revenue between the two sports. My only contention is that baseball hasn’t felt nearly as much of a “Wild West” in the portal, probably because the gross dollars being offered aren’t as much, as we’ve both stated. And for a long, long time kids were literally paying their way for the love of the game prior to the scholarship additions last year for baseball. To me baseball is the purest sport left, where many kids are still playing because they love the game. I think we are so elite in the portal because of Tony V, player development and hardware, with some supplement of a competitive NIL.

I think it's simply there isnt as much competition in baseball. The SEC is legit, the ACC has a few teams and then a couple decent west coast teams, but in Football you're competing with 60 schools.
Also the rosters are a lot smaller so you literally can't hoard as much talent.

I remember when Football rode the Coattails of Lady Vols Basketball in 80's and 90's...

Individuals seem to let that slip their mind and no NIL was needed..

Do you start it dry or do you put some water or something when you first put in oven. Also do you have trouble with it drying out cooking that long. I have trouble with it drying out if i cook it very long . But i think i will try your way one time and see how it works we eat ham quite often and im always trying different methods.
I put the brown sugar and mustard glaze on from the beginning. If you turn it down and tent it with foil, it doesn't get dry. I kind of loosely cover it with two pieces of foil hooked together. I add the coke after the initial 30 minutes at 350.
