Of course football pays the bills and the NIL allotment is proportional to therevenue between the two sports. My only contention is that baseball hasn’t felt nearly as much of a “Wild West” in the portal, probably because the gross dollars being offered aren’t as much, as we’ve both stated. And for a long, long time kids were literally paying their way for the love of the game prior to the scholarship additions last year for baseball. To me baseball is the purest sport left, where many kids are still playing because they love the game. I think we are so elite in the portal because of Tony V, player development and hardware, with some supplement of a competitive NIL.
